Two Mermaids and One Direction

Chapter XIX

Cassie's POV

I was walking along the beach, as I went there a lot. I was trying to practice my powers. Today t was particularly cloudy and breezy- a storm was coming, I knew it.

I looked at the sand. I used one hand to raise it and shape it into a dolphin, then I used the other hand to strike it with lightning. It then became a beautiful glass dolphin figurine.

Suddenly, I lost focus, and it fell to the ground and broke into a million tiny pieces. Oops.

I heard thunder rumbling above me and lightning struck the beach a few miles away.

It started raining and a few seconds later it was pouring down.

I ran as fast as I could into the ocean, breaking through the cold water, feeling quite a rush, I swam to a little cave I knew of.

I swam and I swam till I reached the cave. The water was warm, although the storm above made the surface water rough, it was perfectly calm where I was, deep down and below. The water caressed my body. Fish swam by me, tickling me as if I was one of them, because right now, I was.

I swam through the opening of the cave. It was very deep. To get there, you had to swim down, then back up, in a V shape.  A human could never swim this deep. But when the cave went up... it was well worth the long swim, because the destination was a beautiful place.

There was a beautiful crystal clear waterfall. Flowing into a pool with jagged rock walls and sunshine that seamed to forever stream through. On one wall was where the cave was.

I came here to relax. I had been feeling stressed lately. With all this One Direction shit... ugh... and everyone was always at my place. Didn't they have their own houses?!

I ran my hand over the wallls, feeling the holes and crcks, and bumps.

I just needed to get away from everything... and practice my powers...

I raised the water, I made it grow, I twisted it, I froze it. It sat there, a throne of ice... beautiful... it's beauty only made me madder. My hand then held a flame... that destroyed its beauty.

I needed to learn some control. I looked at the sky, noticing the sun's low point in the west, I knew I needed to get back...

"Hey", Brittany said while shoving a bunch of popcorn in her face.

"Hi" I said timidly as I walked through the back door, shutting it quietly.

Britt rolled her eyes at my appearance; hey, I like to look nice no matter what or where I was going.

I was wearing a strapless, printed, navy sundress with ruffles on top, along with big brown wedges, and matching tan wedges.

I went shopping in town today! I had to look good!

"Where were you?" She said not looking away from the tv.

"The cave," I said, as she turned towards me, raising her eyebrows.

"I haven't been there in forever!" she said.

"It was just as beautiful as ever," I smiled. I frowned when I realized she had been here when I was gone. "Don't you have your own house?" I yelled a bit frustratedly.

"Ugh fine I'll go," she sighed.

"Sorry, I've just been kinda stressed lately with all this stuff going on and these weird dreams I've been having," I said.

I was in the water and I had a key.

I was trying to unlock something, except I didn't know what.

I shoved the key into the wall and it fit. I twisted it, jiggling it around in the hole

Then something happened. The wall started to shake, and I pulled the key out.

The water was trembling and shaking around me. Everything was. I could only imagine the storm happening above the water. The wall started shaking violentlently and glowing, brighter, and brighter.

I squinted my eyes. Was the wall crumbling? It was too bright to tell.

All of a sudden the light flashed brighter than ever and the wall fell.

Except I never got to see what was behind that wall, because I always woke up right after. 

Then, I realized why I felt like I had seen that key from The Local Mermaid somewhere before. It was the key from my dreams, and I needed to get it.

Kinda short but oh well
