Cassie's POV

I put on my bikini and grabbed a towel.

"Hey Cass where ya goin'?" Emily asked as she ate a bowl of popcorn.

"To the pool"

"That's coo- WAIT WHAT?!"

"Well remember that horrible rash I had, and how I had to drink that horrible stuff? Well it's side affects are- no powers, or transforming" I shivered at the thought of being... normal.

Emily just nodded the whole time.

"So I decided I would make the best of it" I sighed.

"Okay" she said and I walked out the door.

The pool was on the roof, we were on floor nineteen. The top floor. This building was kinda small, as in not many floors; the rooms themselves were huge.

Since it was snowing the pool on the roof was probably freezing, so I went to the heated, Olympic size pool and hot tub downstairs by the workout room game room.

I opened the door. It was very wet and steamy in here. There were no people. I had the place all to my self.

I sat my stuff down and walked to the edge of the pool. I dived in the seven- foot-deep water.

The water felt good against my skin. It was really weird. Instead of flicking my tail back and forth to stay above the water I had to move my feet around like a jellyfish would.

I went under again. I opened my eyes and immediately regretted it. It stung just a bit. I was sure I could handle it though.

I kicked my legs. It was really weird but, It wasn't like I couldn't swim.

If you are a mermaid, even before you get your tail, you are still drawn to water. That's why soon-to-be mermaids excel in water sports.

I could still hold my breath for about three-ish minutes. I could still swim faster than the average human. I couldn't see as well though. I was a much bigger fan of having a tail and powers though...

***meanwhile...

Taylor's POV

"What the hell is wrong with you?! Do you know what you've done?!" Zayn screamed.

"Zayn, babe, please just let me explain" I pleaded.

"Fine, try to explain why you would do this to my best friend, to YOUR best friend, to me." He spat.

"I saw pictures of you and Lily together, alone. I got mad and wanted revenge, so I tricked Liam into kissing me" I said quickly.

"Wow. That's low. You have changed. I fell for a sweet, down to earth girl who would never hurt her friends. Now... you just disgust me." He said and stalked off.

I fell to the ground and broke into a series of sobs. I hated myself for what I did. In the heat of the moment, I don't know what happened. I blind-folded him and everything just went down hill from there.

I had to fix this. I had caused my best friends so much pain and grief. I would hate myself and feel guilty forever if I didn't try and fix this soon.
