Chapter 2

Johnny's POV

June slammed her bedroom door and locked it. I felt bad, I was upset with her that she walked home alone because I don't want anything to happen to her. I would do anything for her and it isn't just me, it is the rest if the gang too. We all just looked at each other. I can tell the others feel bad too, even Darry but he still looked mad. "She is getting harder and harder to raise." Darry said. We all nodded and Two-Bit said "The hardest part hasn't even come yet." He said while looking down at his shoes. "What do you mean?" Pony asked. Everybody looked at him then looked away thinking about how to explain it to him. "Uh, well when you get older you will know. Or when the time comes for June then you will know, whatever comes first." Soda said. It was quite until Dally broke the silence. "Hey... Do you guys think she is right?" We looked at him confused then he said "When she said that we were to busy trying to protect her than we are to know her?" Dally asked. We looked at each other "Maybe we are a little too over protective. I mean we do have to protect her because of the Socs and well..." Darry trailed off not wanting to talk about his kid sister like that. "We have to admit, she is known for her looks. She gets stared at by boys, she gets glares at by girls because she is prettier than them and they know it, and she gets wolf whistles everywhere she goes no matter what she is wearing, weather or not it is  T-shirt and sneakers or high heels or a skirt." Steve said, we all just stared at him in shock but then nodded because it is true. "How about we make it up to her by playing a sport June wants to do." Darry said and we nodded in agreement.

June's POV

I was so mad that i was grounded, I mean all I said was the truth and I got in trouble. They are so overprotective it is annoying as hell and I never cussed in front of them. I wonder what they are going to be like when I find a guy and start dating. Well since I am grounded I am going to spend all of that time in my room (it isn't like I have a choice to choose weather or not I can stay inside or go outside. If I could I would be outside doing some kind of sport). So I am going to work on a new song. I went to my desk and got a pencil and my notebook that I call my song book. I was writing down ideas when I heard footsteps outside my door and I heard a knock on my door. "What?" I asked annoyed. "It's The gang can we come in?" Darry asked. "Well you guys got me in trouble, then Darry got mad at me, then I got grounded. So NO!" I said bitterly. I was so mad at them but I couldn't stay mad at them forever so I went and unlocked the door quietly and went back to my song. I heard the door creek open and saw the guys. "Hey, June." Soda said with a sad look on his face. "Hi" I said not looking up from my song book. "What are you working on?" A curious Johnny asked. Ok, I can't be mean or mad at Johnny. I mean who can? He is so sweet. I looked up at him and smiled then said "I am working on a song. I am just getting ideas, its part of the progress of mine I use to write the songs I do." I said proudly. Then I saw the whole gang smile at what I said and then I looked back down at my song. Dally was the one who broke the silence between us "Uh, June we felt bad about getting you into trouble so we wanted to make it up to you. We will play any sport you want to play." I was so surprised but yet happy because I am good at basically every sport except golf. "Well I don't care what sport we play because I am good at every sport or should I say great instead of good?" I said smirking. "What do you mean?" Two-Bit asked. "Well, I play football with you guys and I am pretty good at it because you guys said it yourselves and what do you think I do with my free time? Or what do you think I am doing when I am not here?" I asked/said. They all kind of looked at me surprised "Wow well uh, lets play... Basketball." Pony said. We all nodded in agreement and went to the park to start the game.
