Chapter 19

That is a picture of Rosie!

Tanner's POV

She is so beautiful. I haven't known her for a whole day and I am already in love with her. I'm excited and nervous about tomorrow. But she has a great personality so I will be fine. I was snapped out of my thoughts when A hand was placed on my shoulder. I turned around and it was Shawn with three others. Great. Michael and Greg were smirking like they knew something was going to happen, but we all knew something is going to happen. Shawn doesn't have an expression on his face and Tommy looked like he didn't want to be here. "What the hell were you thinking?! I could of handled it!" Shawn angrily yelled at me. "You were being a jerk! She didn't deserve anything that you were doing to her! All she wanted to do was go home but of course you just couldn't let that happen!" I yelled back just as angrily. I didn't want to hear him anymore so I turned and walked away. I got to my house and went to my room. I git in bed and I thought about tomorrow.

June's POV

I woke up the next day and put on a shirt that only went down right below my boobs and then I put on overalls with my black converse. I straightened my hair with Candy's straightener because this is the first time I have ever straightened my hair. I put on mascara, eye liner, and a little bit of lip stick and I headed down stairs. The gang slept over last night because I could hear Two-Bit and Steve arguing about who is sleeping where. I walked into the living room and I looked at the clock and saw that it was 10:45. I was going to to eat with Tanner so I will skip breakfast. I went to sit on the couch and noticed that the gang was looking at me funny. "What?" I finally asked and Soda answered "Your hair. It is straight and you need a longer shirt on. Why are you getting all dressed up for this anyway?" I smiled at the thought if Tanner and said "Because I want to look good and I want to try something different and I am not changing my shirt." Darry came out of the kitchen and said "June you better eat before you leave." I sat down by Ponyboy and Steve and said "Well when Tanner comes, we are going to lunch so I will eat with him. Besides I am not hungry." Evie asked "Are you nervous?" I looked at her and said "Yeah a little bit. I have never done this before. But, I am excited." Darry interrupted the conversation by asking "You will be fine and when are we going to meet him?" Oh no. They are going to embarrass me. Well, at least the guys are. The girls will get mad at them if they do so, I will be fine. "I don't know. I will ask and I will call you when I find out. You will be here right?" I asked and Darry said "It is Saturday, of course I will be here. But if you need anything at all, call, ok?" I nodded and looked at the clock. It was 11:00 so I said goodbye and walked out the door. By the time I got to the gate, Tanner just arrived. "So where are we going?" I asked and he said "Well, I was thinking we go to the Dingo for linch and then I will take you somewhere special." I smiled and nodded. He grabbed my hand and we walked to the Dingo like that in a comfortable silence. We got to the Dingo and we sat in a booth. After we ordered, Tanner said "Tell me about yourself." I smiled and I told him everything. The gang, my parents, my siblings, and everything else that has happened. By the time I was done the waiter came with our food. I didn't want to talk about just me and I wanted to know him better so I said "So, now it is time for you to tell me about yourself." He smiled and said "I have two older siblings. My brother Matt, is in college and my sister Jenna, is a Junior in high school. My parents are married and they are nice and not abusive and I play basketball. There isn't really much to talk about me." I was paying attention but I was paying attention to his features mostly. He is so hot! He doesn't have movie star looks like Soda but he is hot. I forgot I had something to ask and say. "Hey, umm.. My gang is really protective like I told you and they want to meet you. If you don't mind. Would you want to meet them tonight?" I asked hoping he would say yes. "Yeah. I would be happy to meet them." He said and I asked "You would?" He nodded his head and said "Yeah, I mean I am gonna have to meet them sooner or later so why not now?" We both laughed and I said "I will be back. I have to go call my brother and tell him." Tanner nodded his head and I got up to go call Darry. I hope this goes good! I dialed my house number and it rung three times before Beth answered. "Hello?" She asked. "Hey Beth tell the gang that I am bringing Tanner over tonight to meet you all." I said and she said 'ok.' I hun up and I went back to Tanner

While June is talking on the phone.

Tanner's POV

After June left I saw a face out the window that I did not want to see. Shawn. Him and Max; who is part of Shawn's group, came into the diner and stood right in front of the table. "Who are you here with?" Shawn asked and I knew he knew so I didn't answer. "Well, where is she? I need to talk to her." Shawn said and this time, I answered "No! You will not talk to her because you will not go near her! Shawn I have been your friend since we were little and I have supported you through all of the stupid things you did, so why can't you do the same thing for me this one time?" Max nodded in agreement with me and Shawn punched his arm and said "Because you always get the girls. The girls I like, you steal them from me! That's why Tanner." So much anger was boiling inside of me. "I didn't steal anyone away from you! I like June, a lot and I am not going to let ruin this for me man. I care about her a lot and if not being friends anymore is what has to happen then, it will happen." I said. At that time, June came back and Shawn glared at me but smirked at June. I took June's hand and put some money on the table for the food and left. We left the Dingo and it was time to take her to someplace I know she would like. Of course, it took longer because we were walking but it will be worth it once we get there. I hope she likes it!
