Chapter 11

Johnny's POV

I am really scared. I love June so much and I would die if anything happens to her. She almost got kidnapped! I have got beaten, abused by my parents, and bullied but, almost being kidnapped is worse. That could've been the last time we would've seen her. That's scary. You don't know what those men would have done to her. Well, we are sitting in the truck almost to the police station and it is dead silent. Somebody let out a sign and I looked to see it was June. She is still in her brother's arms and she is holding onto him. Tight. Like he is going to leave her and never come back. Darry stopped the truck and I looked and saw we were already at the police station. We all got out and walked into the building. The lady at the front desk smiled and waved at me. Eww. Gross, she is about Darry's age. "Yes?" She asked with her high pitched voice. "We would like to report a crime. Umm, our little sister almost got kidnapped." Darry explained. "Yes and you all are siblings? Where are your parents?" The lady asked and looked at me and winked. Dally, Steve, and Two-Bit noticed and they nudged me with their elbows. "We are not all siblings but, we are family. Our parents died" Darry pointed at him, Candy, Soda, June, and Ponyboy. "Their mom died and their dad kicked them out" Darry pointed to Steve and Rosie. "His mom and died and his dad abused him" he then pointed to Dally. Then, he pointed to Two-Bit and Kathy "Their dad walked out on them and their mom works all the time. That they don't see her." Then, he pointed to me "His parents abuse him." Then he pointed to Beth "Her parents live in Florida." He explained. The lady said that she wanted to talk to Darry and then write some things in her computer. The rest if the gang went and waited for them to finish. I am nervous so I went and sat down next to Dallas. "Hey, Johnny man, it'll be ok." He reassured me. I nodded and lean back against my chair. "Hey, umm Dally?" I asked and he looked at me. So I continued "That front desk lady is staring at me." We both looked and she winked at me then, glaring at Dallas. He chuckled and said "Man, she likes you. But, she is Darry's age." He said and it was true. "I don't like her man. She won't stop staring, smiling, or winking at me." I explained and he looked back at me and said "Alright, if she does any of that shit again, you tell me. Ya hear?" He asked now serious. "Yeah I hear ya." I said and then Darry came back and sat down next to Beth and June. A police officer came out five minutes later and asked if they could talk to each and everyone of us. We all nodded and first person was Two-Bit. It took about two to three hours but it went like this; Two-Bit, Rosie, Kathy, Soda, Steve, Evie, Me, Ponyboy (which wasn't easy because June wouldn't let go of him so Darry, Soda, Dally, Steve, and Two-Bit had to pry her off. It took so many of us because 1. She has a strong grip. 2. She bit. 3. She kicked. 4. She punched.), Darry, Beth, Candy, Dally, and June. When they finally got her off of Ponyboy, a police officer had to drag her away. Now we are here waiting.

June's POV

Ok, I was being dramatic by hanging on my twin and fighting everyone who was trying to get me off of him. The only reason they got me off of him was because I bit Dally and he called me a little shit. I tried so hard not to laugh. Well, right now I an sitting in a room with a table and chairs around it. I am sitting on one end of the table and a officer is walking a circle around me just watching me. "So, June tell me what happened." The officer instructed. This is going to be boring, so why not mess with him? "Well, I can't." I said and looked down to keep from smiling. From almost being kidnapped, I am surprisingly in a fun mood. He looked and me and asked "Why not?" I had to take a second to make sure I wouldn't laugh. Then I said "Because I am not allowed to talk to strangers." He glared at me and he didn't say anything. Until, "I am officer Duke." He finally spoke after like five minutes. "How do I know you are not lying?" I asked with sass. If looks could kill I would be dead. "June, tell me what happened or I will drop the case." He threatened. Oh boy. "Aren't you supposed to be a officer?" I asked and he just looked at me and gave me a confused look. I said "If you are an officer then why are you threatening me? You are supposed to be doing the opposite. Which is to help." I said and he slammed his hand down on the table and yelled "ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION!!" I looked up at him and said "You didn't ask me a question. You instructed me to tell you what happened." I said. Before he could say anything, I said "Ok ok. I will tell you." His face was burning with anger. If Darry found out I have been in here the entire time messing around, I would be dead. So I told him everything that happened. Then he said "Get out and I need to talk to Darrell." He said. Uh oh. We walked out with officer Duke grabbing my arm tightly and dragging me along with him. We went out to the waiting room and when we came in sight with the gang, they stood up. Duke gave me a little shove towards the gang and said that he needs to talk to Darry. When Darry and Duke went to go talk, the gang looked at me. "What happened? We heard yelling and a loud noise." Ponyboy asked. Before I could answer, Candy said "June, I swear if you weren't following the instructions that he gave you, I will spray you with the hose." She was pissed! Damn, I am in trouble. Darry came back and you wouldn't believe what happened next.
