June's POV

Darry came back with a pissed expression on his face. I'm in for it, let me tell you that. "June, I am so disappointed in you." That's all Darry said and walked to the truck. The gang gave me dirty looks and walked to the truck also. I mean, why are they so mad? Ok, that was a stupid question but, I have been tied to a pole before. Yeah well, lets say that's what happens when you mess with Cherry Valance and her minions. But, the gang wasn't AS mad as they are now. But they were pretty mad about that. I snapped out of my thoughts and when I walked out of the police station Darry was already driving away! What the hell? "HEY!" I yelled and Darry stopped the truck and rolled down his window. "June, you can walk home. It isn't that long of a walk. But, when you do get home, we are going to have a long, long talk." Darry informed me. I looked at him, then at Beth. She looked like she felt sorry for me. I looked at Johnny next, and he looked like he was about to cry. Then, they drove off without me. I shouldn't have done that. They are all worried about me and I go and pull a stunt like that. I sat in the parking lot and watched the old green pick up truck fade out of sight. I want to go home but, I don't. I sat there with tears in my eyes and thought about mom and dad. I got up and went and sat down against a brick wall, so I wouldn't get run over. I went back to thinking, mom and dad would be so disappointed. I started crying. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry mom and dad. I let you down. I let Darry down. I let Candy and Soda down. I let Ponyboy down. I let everybody down. I'm sorry Dally. I try not to disappoint you, but I fail all the time! It is harder than it looks to be baby Curtis! It is hard being the youngest out of thirteen! Ok? It's hard!" I yelled. I just had to get it all out. I stood up and started my walk home. Tears were still pouring out of my eyes. I couldn't help it, they wouldn't stop. I was walking when I saw head lights. Great. I thought. The red mustang stopped and five socs got out. "Hey there good looking" the voice I hate said. Bob Sheldon. I kept walking, ignoring the comment. "Hey, where are you going?" He asked and came right by my side and kept walking with me while his friends walked behind us. "None of your business." I said looking down. I didn't want them to see me crying but, you could tell from my voice. "What's wrong, beautiful?" Bob asked. "Just leave me alone. I'm not in the mood for your bull shit." I sad already annoyed as hell. I looked up to see where we well, I was and I wasn't that far from home. "Feisty. I like that. See, I heard you beat up my brother." Bob said and I looked at him and looked behind me. Sure enough. Danny is back there. I smirked and looked at Bob and said "Yeah I did. Maybe Danny should learn how to fight so, he won't get beat up by a girl. Maybe you can teach him, Bob! Oh, that's right, you don't know how to fight either." I said and I felt somebody pull my hair. I turned around to be face to face with Danny. "What the hell did you just say?" He asked. "You heard me." I said and kicked him where the sun don't shine and ran. I am only a block away and the socs are close behind me. I got to the gate and ran up the steps and into the house and slammed it shut then, locked it. I slide down the door and the gang was looking at me. I got up and looked out the window and the socs were outside the gate. "June, what happened?" Asked Beth. I was still out of breath and I was bent over with my hands on my knees trying to catch my breath. "June?" Steve asked. "Socs." Was all I said and the gang got up and looked out the window and then they were out the door. I was going to stay in here by myself but Pony pulled me outside with everyone else by my arm. "What do you want Bob?" Dally asked. Bob smirked and said "Her." The gang looked at me then looked at the socs again. "Your not goin' to get her." Soda said. Danny said "Well, June you still owe me an a apology. One, for school and the other is from what you did and said." Darry looked at me and said "What is he talking about June?" I looked at him and said "He was the guy I beat up in school because he said I didn't have a mom. Then all I did was kick him where the sun don't shine." I said and actually proud I told the truth. Everybody went dead silent. "Why, would you tell her that she doesn't have a mom?!" Candy yelled at Danny. She has been pissed all day, poor girl. "Well-" Danny started but was cut off by... BETH !! "No! I don't care who you think you are, but you may NOT say that to her! Am I understood?" Beth yelled. Danny looked at the ground and said "Yes ma'am." WOW !! "Now, I want an apology. Not just from Danny. From ALL of you." Beth commanded. "Sorry." Danny said and Beth looked at the other socs. Bob said "There is no way we are going to say sorry to her. I don't care how beautiful she is." Beth was bright red and said "NOW !!" Bob and the other socs said a quiet sorry and started walking back to their car. Beth turned and looked at all of us. Beth then said "All of you in the house. Now!" With that, all of us turned and sprinted towards the house. On the way to the house, Two- Bit tripped and Steve fell on him and brought Dally down with him. Dally cussed at him and then the others were so close to them, they fell on top of the three. It was so funny !! I started laughing. Then, I felt big arms wrap around my waist and pick me up. I looked to see who it was and it was Darry. He threw me on top of the pile and he got on top of me. Everybody was surprisingly having a good time. We heard someone clear their throat and we all looked up to see Beth. She was standing there with her arms folded across her chest and she was tapping her foot. Then she said "I can't stay mad at you guys. Have fun. But June, when we get in the house we are going to have a talk." With that she went inside. We got up and followed her inside. Everybody went with their boyfriends or girlfriends and either sat on the couch or the floor. Some of the girls sat in the guys lap. Beth came out from the kitchen and pulled out a chair from the table and said "Sit." I did as I was told. The chair was facing the living room where everybody was. Of course. "Tell me everything that was said in there." Beth commanded. So then I told them everything. Beth looked at me like I was crazy and asked "Why are you making this into a joke?" They don't get me. Whatever. "Do you think I want to talk about this? No! I don't! I don't like talking about how I almost got kidnapped !! That's why I didn't take it seriously !" I yelled. Damn it ! I am pissed. I got up and I went to my room. I want to finish my song but, I need ideas. Maybe a walk will help. I got up and was about to open my door when I heard the gang talking about me. They were talking so quiet that, I couldn't tell who was saying what. But, I heard what they were saying. A voice said "I don't understand her. She wants attention but when she gets it then she doesn't want it." "Well, almost being kidnapped is terrible !!! Who wants to be kidnapped? If those men come back and they do get her, we may never see her again." Another voice said. Everybody was silent. I went out to the living room and went out the door. I wish I hadn't of walked out that door because what happens next wouldn't of ever happened...
