Dallas's POV
Those stupid Socs have to ruin everything. They can't stay on their own territory to save their lives and they beat greasers for the fun of it. Well, they stopped right in front of us and were looking at June. Oh hell no. They aren't going to touch her. Yes, I will admit I have a soft spot for Johnny AND June. I feel bad for Johnny, I mean he is either ignored or abused by his parents and the damn Socs won't leave him alone. June, her parents died, guys always give her hard times and pick on her because they think she is hot (I will be honest with you, she is pretty cute but they shouldn't treat her like that) no matter if they are greaser, Soc, or even the stupid middle class does it, then the girls give her glares because June is prettier than they are and everyone knows it. I mean, she is a Curtis, what do you expect? She is the little sister of Ponyboy, Darry, and Sodapop and they all have looks. A Soc interrupted my thoughts saying "Well, what do we have here? Seven no good greasers and a pretty little thing." A Soc said saying the last part to June. Darry grabbed June's arm and pulled her behind him, Soda, and Pony. "We are not lookin' for a fight, so leave." Steve said. A big guy with brown hair, I think his name is Randy said "Who says we are looking for a fight?" I glared at him and said "Because you are always lookin' for a fight, dumbass." Well, Darry is going to be mad at me because he doesn't want me to cuss in front of June. "We saw you guys playing some basketball and decided that we will play against you guys." Before anybody could say anything, June pushed her way through her brothers and sarcastically said "Like you guys would know how to play basketball, the right way." Badass. Randy got to her height and said "We play better than a girl like yourself." June is like everybody in the gang. She likes Mickey Mouse like Two-Bit, she likes cars like Steve, she is shy like Johnny, she is hard working like Darry, she is extremely smart like Ponyboy, she has looks like Soda, and she is tough and tuff like me. See, we all teach June things, and I taught her how to smack talk. "Well, if ya don't know how to fight without a blade then ya don't know how to play a game of basketball." June said will smirking that little smile of hers. Another Soc said "Well ain't she feisty? Since we have more players than you how about letting the guys play and you and me can have some fun?" That son of a bitch. Now it's my turn. "You are mentally dumb if you think June is going to 'have fun' with you but, I think it will help if you get your head out of your ass." I heard June laughing and Darry gave her a smack on the back of the head and told her that he needs to talk to her. She and Darry went to talk in private.
June's POV
"June run home now" Darry said as he was looking right in my eyes. "Darry, why can't I stay?" I saw his eyes change from cold to worried. "June if we play basketball against them, they could still do something to you. The whole gang noticed the Socs staring at you because they all looked at me with concern and worry." I love the gang but they are all over protective. "Darry you guys will be there with me." I said hoping he would change his mind. "June, there are more of them than there is of us, and if they start a fight they could distract us with just as many as us and the extra could hurt you June, now I am not going to say it again, go home." Darry said still looking at me in the eyes. I knew I lost this argument so I nodded and Darry smiled and said he would watch me run home until he couldn't see me anymore. I took off running and before I knew it I was back home.
Two-Bit's POV
When June took off running, we watched her and the Socs decided there wasn't going to be a game of basketball instead there was going to be a fight. Because one of the damn Socs punched Soda right in the cheek. Since Darry was the biggest, he took on more than one. I grabbed a Soc and hit him as hard as I could right in the jaw. He stumbled back and then gained his balance and got me on the cheek. I didn't stumble back, I grabbed his shirt and punched him in the eye and he fell and didn't get back up.
Soda's POV
After the fight with the Socs which by the way, we won, we started to head home to see June. I feel bad for June, she is gorgeous and that is the problem. Darry has some girls that like him, Ponyboy has girls at school who have a crush on him, I have girls that want to go out with me, and June, well she has every guy that wants her. She gets glares from girls because she is prettier than them and they know it and because their boyfriends or their crush has a crush on June. I hate to say it but, guys always want to get in her pants. No matter if it is Soc, greaser, or middle class. I snapped out of my thoughts by realizing we were home already. We went through the gate and into the house to find it empty. "June?" Steve called out but got no reply. "June. Where are you?" I yelled but got no answer. I walked into June's room to find no one in there. I walked back out to the gang and we didn't say anything until Dally broke the silence "Where is she? Darry told her to go home. Here we are and she isn't here." He said sounding a bit of concern, worried, and angry. "I don't know but we got to find her." Pony said and he was right. "Lets look for her. Half of us in my truck and the other half in Two-Bits car. Look everywhere June likes to go or where you guys think she would go." Darry commanded and we all nodded in agreement and headed out to look for my baby sister.
