Chapter 49

Nobody's POV

Sodapop got rushed to the hospital after getting shot in the chest and he has a slim chance he'll make it. The gang got called down and they are currently waiting in the waiting room anxiously. Meanwhile, Braeden and Gracie are on a train to New York to get away for a little while. They have been on the train for a few days and they've gotten closer to each other. They even think that they are falling in love. They want to know where they belong. Where they fit in at in this world. They've been wandering that all their life but never found the answer but now, they are determined to find it. They know they belong with each other but they don't know how to tell the other one how they feel. But right now, Braeden has another thing on his mind. The gang.

The doctor came out and told the gang the news that they didn't want to hear. The doctor told the gang that there is no cure yet to fix what Soda has. The bullet hit his heart in a certain area that effects everything. He's on life support until he either looses the fight for his life or when he runs out of time the doctor is giving him.

The gang is crushed knowing that there is no way to save him so they all know what has to be done. They have to go in there and say their last goodbyes. They never thought that they would be doing this to Soda especially so soon. But at least he will be with his parents that not just he but the whole gang lost at a young age. The reason they grew up too fast. The reason they dropped everything that they could be doing for their future to help put the youngest of the gang through school. So they could have a good education, a good job, and a better life that the others never had a chance to have. They didn't want to have the youngest go through the things that the older ones did. But that's a part of being a Greaser. Being a Greaser means you are a Greaser. You are a JD and a hood. You blacken the name of your fair city. You beat up people. You rob gas stations. You are a menace to society. Man do you have fun.

June couldn't handle seeing her brother in that state so she ran out with her boyfriend, Dally, and Steve chasing after her. She found herself in the cemetery where her mother and father lay beneath the ground. She fell to her knees in front of their graves as she started to pray. She prayed and prayed and prayed. She was sobbing her little but yet big heart out. "I don't want to loose him! I don't want to loose him like I lost you guys! I didn't want to loose you but I had no choice! I had no say in it whatsoever! If I did, you guys would still be here! You would be in that hospital room comforting him like any other good parent would do! I don't know if you're here with me or with him but I probably know the answer. And that's ok. He needs you more than I do right now but all I'm asking is for you to listen. Listen to me, my siblings, and the gang! They need him! We need him! I need him! So please! Don't take him away from me! Don't take him like you guys were taken from me! Please."

June finally got up from her knees and then got one final look at her parents graves and then started walking back to the hospital with the three boys who were astonished by what they just saw.
