June's POV

I started my walk back home and I started to think if that was a good idea or not. I wasn't really thinking about it. I was worrying about Tanner. But now, I should for once be worrying about myself. All of a sudden, a hand covered my mouth and the voice said "Hey there, beautiful." He took his hand off of my mouth and said "I'm Braeden Winston." What the hell did he just say? Winston?! But wow, he is gorgeous! He has dirty blonde hair with greenish blueish eyes. He has dimples with a little bit of a lazy eye but he makes it look... Sexy? Yep, sexy. "I'm June Curtis. By any chance, are you related to Dallas Winston?" I asked and he smiled that BEAUTIFUL smile and said "Yeah, he's my older brother. He left me back in New York when he came here." Oh my gosh! I grabbed his hand and said "Follow me." He nodded and I dragged him to my house and brought him inside and the gang looked mad but when they saw Braeden, they were confused. "Guys, this is Braeden Winston." I said and their eyes went wide. "Braeden? Is that really you?" Dally asked and Braeden's eyes went big and said "You son of a bitch. Why the hell would you leave me in New York by myself?! With our ABUSIVE parents?!" Braeden squeezed my hand. Dally grabbed Braeden and disappeared with him outside. "Wow. What a Winston reunion." Two-Bit laughed and Candy chuckled but agreed. "June, you went to your room and came back through the front door. Where were you June?" Darry commanded and he was ANGRY! "I was nowhere-" I started but Darry cut me off by yelling "DON'T TELL ME THAT! I HEAR EXCUSES LIKE THAT ALL THE TIME FROM YOU AND PONYBOY! NOW, JUNE TELL ME WHERE YOU WERE RIGHT NOW OR YOUR GROUNDED!" I looked at him with anger building up in me. "I'm not saying. No matter how much I want to, I'm not." He nodded and said "Your grounded until you tell me." Then he went to his room and I turned to the gang and sat next to Soda and Candy. I watched Mickey but the gang watched me. "June, why can't you tell us? I mean, what is so bad about telling us? If anything we would protect you. C'mon you can trust us." Rosie said and I looked at her and said "It's not that I don't trust you guys, cause I do but I just can't. Not even Dally and I tell Dally everything. Where I went and what I did may have been stupid now that I think about it but it was worth it. Because I am protecting you guys and Tanner." Right then Dally came in dragging Braeden and TANNER! "Who are you protecting? Oh, and Braeden and I are fine for right now and Tanner here is here to see June." Dally said. "June, what did you do?! I told you to stay out of it! You are going to get hurt! Whatever you did, you need to tell us! So we can help you!" Tanner said and kneeled down in front of me. "I can't Tanner." I said and Soda spoke up "June, what did you do?" I looked at him and said "I love you Soda." He had tears in his eyes and Dally said "You better not have done anything stupid, kid." Tanner was looking in my eyes and said "Listen June, I know that we haven't been doing so well, but you have to tell me whatever you did. This is dangerous. I called it off with Emily. I never liked Emily and I never will. I was protecting you. They told me that my girlfriend did something to save my ass and that I'm free. June, please. I don't want you hurt. I promise that I will make it work between us if you still want me. But we have to deal with this first. Please June. What did you do?" I broke eye contact and said "Tanner, I want to tell you so bad but I can't. They will come after you and the gang. All I wanted to do was protect you guys like you protect me. Also after this, I have something else to tell you. But it can wait." Tanner sighed as he sat on the floor and said "I'll be here waiting for you and I always will." After that, we all went bed.
