Chapter 32

June's POV

I woke up to people arguing. I kept my eyes closed and acted like I was still asleep. "Tanner, tell me what the hell is going on!" Dally said. I could tell it was him because of his thick New York accent. "I don't know. I use to know what was happening but know I don't! Emily and some Socs came up to me and said that if I didn't want June to get hurt, then I had to do anything and everything they tell me to do. One of the things they told me to do was break off whatever relationship me and June had and to 'date' Emily. Then one day they told me that I didn't have to do it anymore. They said that June saved my ass." Tanner explained. "What do we do now? We don't know what June did and she won't tell us. She won't tell even Dally and they are CLOSE!" I think Soda said that. "I don't know Sodapop, I don't know." I'm pretty sure Darry said that one. I opened my eyes and asked "What are we having for breakfast?" Chuckles went through the room as I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes. "I'll fix you cereal." Beth said and went into the kitchen and a second later she came out and put a bowl of cereal on the table. I got up and made my way over to the table to eat my breakfast. "June, I want you to stay inside today." Darry said and I looked at him like he has two heads. "Why? Its nice outside." I protested! He must be crazy if he thinks I'm staying inside all day. "For one, your grounded until you tell me if you forgot and two, I don't want you outside with whatever is going on." Darry said and I looked at my food and asked "So, you know what happened last night?" He nodded and said "Yeah I do and Ponyboy is going to stay here with you to make sure you don't leave." This time I smirked because I knew I could take down Ponyboy and Pony's eyes went big because he knew it. "What? Why me?" Pony shouted a little annoyed and Darry sighed being annoyed. "Because you are her twin and you like staying inside. Besides, the rest of us have things to do. So, this is the last I want to hear about this conversation. Understood?" Darry ordered. We both nodded and he said "Good." Then all of them left and now, it's just me and my twin. "June listen, it wasn't my decision to leave you inside all day and it sure wasn't my idea to be the one staying with you either so don't take it out on me." Pony said and I got up to get my clothes ready for the day and then I will take Pony done. I put on a white shirt with black out lining that says "Mermaids don't do homework." Then I got my black jean shorts that Candy got me and my black converse. I put my hair in a ponytail that will soon sag down because of how thick my hair is. I walked out into the living room and went to the hall closet that has a lock on the door and opened it. I was acting like I was getting my jacket until I saw a big spider. Wink wink. "Ponyboy, come over here! There's a spider!" I said with as much worry in my voice as I could. Ponyboy looked up from the TV and asked "What do ya want me to do about it?" I rolled my eyes. I want you to come and kiss the damn thing! No you idiot! What do you think I want you to do? He says that he wonders about me, well I wonder about him a hell of a lot more. I was still looking at him and said "I want you to be an older brother and come kill the damn thing." He rolled his eyes this time and got up and went to the closet and looked inside. "What do ya mean theres a spider? I don't see one." He said and I pushed him with all my might into the closet and shut and locked the door. "Hey! Let me out of here! June! Open the damn door!" Pony said as he banged on the door. "Hey! Your lucky I didn't stick to plan A!" I shouted and I could hear him asking himself 'What was plan A?' He doesn't want to know. I walked out the door with a whole lot of confidence. I walked to a store for a new blade. I bumped into someone and I looked up to see Bob, Randy, and Danny; one of Bob's little brothers, standing right in front of me. "We are giving you your first mission today. Here is the address and when you get there, a guys named Greg will give you a package and you will not look inside. Then you will give it to us and you will not say one word to anyone. If you do say something or look inside, a certain someone will pay for what you did." Bob said and I nodded remembering why I made the deal in the first place. To protect my family. Here goes nothing. But, who would he hurt? I thought it would be Tanner? Who else would they hurt in my family? Could it be? They know how much he means to us so it's the obvious answer. Johnny
