I'll post the sequel when at least 10 of you comment me to do so. I just need to know if it'll be worth it.

Enjoy. A. xx

———————————

The day was hot and the street was filled with yellow cabs and people leaving their works trying to catch one. My ears were filled with cars, people, noises, busses yet it didn't bothered me. I have always loved New York as if she was mine and i was hers. It took me forever to finally find a nice apartment in Downtown Manhattan. I ended up moving to a nice 3rd floor apartment in West Village, paying $4.550 per month but it didn't mattered, i had all my expenses covered.

It took me forever to put the last of my boxes up in the apartment. I had at least 40 boxes with all my things from back home in L.A. At the moment i started picking them up i thanked Elisha Otis for inventing the elevator.

It wasn't hard for me to move, neither from my mom and my brother. Both of them knew i needed a brand new start and what better place to create a new life and welcome new beginnings that my favorite city.

Thanking the guy my father called to bring my things in a truck from Los Angeles to my apartment in New York —and also giving him a good tip for the long ride — i get into the elevator all sweaty, with the two of my bags in my hand.

'Hey! Stop the elevator!'. I stop the elevator doors for closing to allow the person who was running towards it. A tall, tanned young man in suit and tie got into the elevator quickly, taking a big breath of air as he turns to me with a wide smile in his face.

'My savior, thank you beautiful!', he says his voice filled with flattery and adulation.

I smile at the eulogy and nod silently.

'I'm Nate, Nate Maloley. You're new right? In the building, i mean. I wouldn't forget that face', he says looking straight to my eyes.

'I'm Adrianna. Lexington', i say shyly realizing he said his last name as well. 'Or call me Ade. And yes, i'm new! Finally moved today', i say without containing the happiness who fills my voice.

'Well, Ade', he says looking to the elevator buttons, 'it seems we're floor neighbors. I live in the third floor as well'. I smiled. New day, new apartment and new —also handsome— friend.

'That's great'. He smiles and i can't help but notice how white and perfectly aligned his teeth are.

The elevator landed in our floor and we step out, walking to our respective apartments.

'You know, there's a chinese place across the street that you'd love. Would you like to go tonight? You know, as a welcome night out. My treat', he says before i reach my front door. I smile.

'That'd be nice, thank you'.

'I'd pick you up at 8. I mean, i'll knock your door at 8, you got it'. I laugh at his use of words and the sightly embarrassment who traveled through his face within seconds.

I wave him good bye and get into my apartment. Looking at the my clock i realize it's nearly 7pm. Also all my clothes are packed which meant i had to use one of the few i had in these gym bags. God damn it.
