Chapter Twenty-Five: The Duel + A New Addition

"Guys, get ready... we have a possibility that we could die here..." Chelsea said.

"Don't be so pessimistic..." Carter rolled his eyes.

"I'll try and get reinforcements here, try and keep them busy!" the fairy queen said then she flew off to another direction.

Then we started a stand-off against each other, waiting for someone's first move. Seriously, how long is this going to go for?

"Waterwhirl!" Elias finally chanted and swirls of water appeared from his hands. It looked like he aimed for the alpha on the left but he missed it by a centimeter. That alpha got ready to charge at him.

"You might have just made it mad... I'll take care of it." Carter said. "Fire Volley!"

He summoned multiple fireballs and they flew towards the same alpha in a slingshot-like manner. Carter easily got him.

"Ow! My face! It's on fire!" the alpha complained, then it disappeared into thin air. One down, two to go. And... they hate fire?

"Hey partner, can we use our claws now?" the alpha on the right said.

"Sure, let's not give them the easy pass through." the other alpha agreed.

And that is how the duel started. The alphas tried to kill us with their claws but we were able to dodge them easily on our hoverboards. We chanted out various commands, some hit some missed, but nothing destroyed those two alphas. We didn't even know how much we could hold them off.

"Air Flux!" Brandon chanted. "They're getting powerful!"

"I know right..." I sighed. "Icicle Arrows!"

"Hahaha, the power of the claws has risen!" the head alpha said.

Seriously, I'm calling the bigger one the head alpha, and that is a lame catchphrase... I thought.

"I agree with you..." Elias rolled his eyes in agreement. "Water Beam!"

A beam made out of water appeared in a split-second and both wolves are distracted by it. Elias moved it around and for some reason, both of the alphas lost their senses and acted like dogs trying to chase a chew toy. Now's our chance to finish them...

"Oi! Reinforcements, get in here and finish the five kinetic beings!" the smaller alpha suddenly yelled, and then we heard more howls.

"Guess that plan was foiled..." Elias muttered.

"Hey! This fight is not over yet!" we heard a voice yell. "Rock Volley!"

We turned around and saw a girl on a hoverboard made out of rocks. She had jet black hair, relaxed gray eyes, and a nice olive-skinned tone. And according to her chants, she could manipulate the earth. We also saw several other people with all kinds of different abilities, and all of them were wearing ballgowns. They must have come from the ball too...

"Why do you dare foil our plans, get them!" the alpha commanded the other werewolves.

"All of you, we need to work together! Everyone say your chants on the count of three!" the girl yelled out. "One... two..."

All the five of us got ready.

"Now!" she exclaimed. "Vines!"

The rest of us chanted, and there were bursts of color that overpowered even the most powerful of werewolves. One by one, the wolves disappeared. Soon, they were gone.

"Got them! The grotto is saved!" Brandon pumped his fist in the air.

"Yes!" I cheered.

Everyone cheered, except Elias, who seemed too distracted by something. I nudged him.

"Oops, sorry..." he scratched his head. "That girl seemed... mysterious."

I glanced at the girl again and I noticed she was perfectly pretty. Any guy could fall for her at first sight. No, I don't want to lose Elias right now... I need to try harder to keep him... he's a werewolf... not many people would be fine dating a werewolf, or so I thought... I gotta stop being jealous...

"You okay there?" he asked in concern.

"Yeah, I'm absolutely am," I said, trying to smile.

"According to your thoughts, she is definitely bothering you. It's okay, I'm also trying my best to keep an eye on you, and you only," he said, hugging me from behind.

I felt my cheeks turn red at the time. I tried to turn around and hide my face in his chest but his grip on me tightened.

"Ha, don't dare run from me." he smirked.

"Stupid werewolf instincts." I teased.

"Are you guys boyfriend-girlfriend or something?" the girl who helped us defeat the werewolves asked.

"Erm...." I stammered through my words.

"Yes," Elias answered. "Oh, and may I ask your name?"

"My name is Amaya, Amaya Wood." she greeted. "I have the kinetic ability to manipulate earth. In other words, Geokinesis."

"That's very nice!" Chelsea politely smiled. "I'm Chelsea March by the way, pyrokinetic."

"Carter Grey, also pyrokinetic." Carter greeted.

"Brandon Williams, Kayla's aerokinetic brother and prefect to a university in Los Angeles," Brandon said.

"Did you have to say the prefect part?" I inquired.

He shrugged. "Well, better to let her know where I come from since I obviously don't look like a high school kid."

"And like he said, my name is Kayla Williams, cryokinetic." I turned to Amaya.

"And who's this handsome person?" she then pointed to Elias.

"Elias Merritt-Sangster," he said in his fancy British accent. "Hydrokinetic, and erm... someone who was bitten by one of those werewolves..."

"Wait, you were bitten?" Amaya was surprised.

"Yes I had to, for Kayla in a situation like a week ago I think..." he replied.

"Whoa, that could've been bad..." she commented.

"First day after being transformed was pretty bad. I don't remember what I did but Brandon told me that I was pretty spoiled. I don't even imagine myself being spoiled..." Elias explained.

"Very funny," she chuckled, bringing back the positive atmosphere. "So, victory party?"

"Yes!" I heard many voices say. I think those are the fairies and the guests that are still here...

"Special dance to our six heroes!" a nymph said.

Everyone cheered and they dragged all of us to the middle of the town square.

"This is going to be fun," I smiled as I held Elias's hand all the way.
