Christine's pov
"Christine!? Did you hear me?"
Meg asked as she waved her hand at me, pulling me from my daydreams.
"No-what?"
She rolled her eyes at me.
"I said you look exhausted, what's the matter?"
I yawned.
"Nothing."
"Christine. That's ridiculous."
Meg murmured. The other ballet girls nodded.
"You don't look so good Christine..."
Adelaide murmured.
"Sit down and I'll tell you the truth."
I smiled and sat on the edge of the stage.
"I was up last night with someone."
"Christine!"
They giggled at me.
"No, not a lover. An angel."
I sighed happily. My angel was extraordinary. His voice was a smooth baritone that made me melt like caramel.
"An...angel?"
"Yes! An angel of music!"
They all looked at me.
"He has an amazing voice. He is giving me lessons. I've never heard anyone so skilled... When he sings I want to cry."
I murmur, my thoughts drifting.
"Is he handsome?"
"Oh yes very!"
In reality I had never seen him. So, I described him as I thought he should look.
"He's a tall man, well built. He has pale skin and pale curls to match. His eyes... They sparkle like the ocean on a summer's day. His lips are pink and perfect. They look so smooth, I want to crash mine to them... He has perfect features. Handsome but approachable-"
"What about his wings!?"
"What does he wear!?"
"Does he fly!?"
They start to ask.
"His wings are beautiful. Like a swan's. He doesn't fly no. He wears the best clothes anyone could buy, but they are white silk."
I sigh happily. Guiltily. If my angel knew I was discussing him, he'd be furious. I was not permitted to tell anyone about him. And I have lied! I have no idea what he looks like.
"What is his name?"
I look at Meg as she asks this. I didn't know his name.
"I've got to go."
I murmur.
"Wait!"
They all call, their curiosity not satisfied. I ignored their calls and went to my room. It was far below almost near the cellars. I laid on my bed.
"Who are you Angel..."
I murmured to myself.
"Yes my dear?"
I almost screamed. My heart felt like it was going to burst through my ribcage.
"My apologies I did not mean to frighten you..."
"No, I should be apologizing."
I sigh.
"I spoke of you to the girls."
"What!?"
He growled.
"I specifically told you not to!"
"I know I'm sorry I just I-"
"I told you if you wanted these lessons it was to be a secret. I am to be a secret!"
His voice boomed. An unexpected wave of courage came over me.
"You are a secret! I know nothing of you! I do not know you name, or your face. Why can we not meet!?"
"Because I said-"
"No, that is not an answer!"
I yelled. No reply. I crossed my arms.
"Have it your way then, you coward!"
I huffed. Just then the lantern in my room went out. I tried to swallow the lump in my throat, but it wouldn't go down. There was a creak at my door, but no footsteps could be seen.
"Hello?"
I called to the darkness.
"Hello!?"
I said louder as I felt someone or...something move behind me.
Just then the door shut.
"Who are you!?"
I called out.
"I am your angel."
The smooth voice murmured. I gasped and jumped as his voice came from behind me. He was standing in the shadow.
"Show yourself!"
I demanded.
"Fine."
I stepped back and watched as the complete opposite as what I had described to my friends stepped out from the shadows. A tall man dressed all in black nightclothes. He was well built but with slick, jet black hair and eyes that were hazel, almost gold. He looked pale but not healthy, almost sickly. His face did have nice features, from what I could see. He was wearing a bright white mask that seemed to glow in the darkness.
"Y-you're not an angel at all!"

AN: I may or may not continue this, if you think I should, just let me know!! Thanks guys,
