“I missed you.” He said.

“I’ve been here the whole time.” I laughed.

“I know but… it just wasn’t the same.” He sighed.

“Go and get the doctor. My head is banging.” I said.

“OK.” He said. A few minutes later he returned with a very young professional looking woman like two years older than us.

“Where’s the doctor?” I asked.

“Hello, I am Dr Adams and I have been looking after you for the last few weeks.” She stated.

“But you look very young, too young to be a doctor.” I said.

“Yes, I get that a lot. I am only 18. But I am one of the country’s best head specialists.” She said proudly.

“Wow! That’s impressive.” I said.

“Thank you. Anyway, Jason said something about a sore head?” She asked checking my pulse and writing stuff down on her clipboard.

“Yes especially at the back.” I said.

“What can you remember?” She asked.

“Going into my house is the last thing I can remember the rest is a blank.” I said.

“You’ve suffered major head trauma. It was touch and go for a while but everything seems fine except that tiny bit of memory loss. You may never remember what happened to you. That may be a good thing, under the circumstances.” She said smiling.

“What do you mean by that?” I asked. It really annoyed me that the only person that didn’t know what happened to me was me. And nobody was telling me anything!

“I have a few more questions to ask first. On a scale of one to ten how bad is the pain in your head?”

“About seven.”

“Yes. That sounds about normal. We had to operate on your head so obviously that will hurt for about another week.  Do you hurt anywhere else?” She asked scribbling stuff down so fast that a sports car could easily race her hand and lose.

“No. Everything else seems fine.” I smiled.

“Any dizziness?  Nauseous feelings?  Anything like that?” She asked.

I shook my head.

“You are one very lucky woman Miss White. OK, I have to go; I will leave you two alone.” She smiled and left.

“Jase?” I asked.

“Yeah?”

“What happened?” I asked.

“Please don’t hate me after this.”

“Why would I?”

“Because… I left you in that house alone.” He said and looked as if he were going to cry.

“Jay, I told you. Don’t be silly.” I said seriously.

“Well… after I left Dylan got in. His wolf took over and he wanted to mate with you. See, Natasha cheated on him after the pack meeting and he thought it was with me and he wanted us to feel the pain he felt. And you wouldn’t give in. He knocked you out. Then he…he…he.” I could see he was uncomfortable about this so I cut him off.

“It’s OK. You don’t have to say it.” I sighed. “Wait… Am I mated to him?”

“What? No way! I got there in time. He was going to ra…rape you! But I would never let that happen.” He said kissing my tears away. I didn’t even know I had been crying until that point.

Dr Adams came back in at that point. Which I was grateful for because it was really awkward talking about this.

“Here, this will make you feel a whole lot better.” She said handing me some pills and water to wash them down with. I hate taking tablets. They always make me gag. But this time luckily they went down OK.

“Thanks.” I said after I had swallowed them.

“No problem. That is what I here for. Except, I have a date now. I will be a few hours. I hope you don’t mind.” She said blushing.

“It’s fine. Those tablets are already kicking in thank god.” I smiled.

“Well if you need anything just call for the doctor that is on duty. I think it is Dr Gallagher. If anything happens. I have my pager and of course mind link.” She said.

“You’re part of this pack?” I asked.

“Yeah, newly. My mate is here.” She said blushing.

“Ohhhh… Who’s your mate?”

“I am.” Some stranger said.

“You’re of this pack too?” I asked.

“Oh yes… Justin meet my mate Ally. Ally meet my third in command Justin.” Jason said.

“Nice to meet you.” He said shaking my hand.

“You too.” I said.

“OK. Well, we have got to go or we are going to be late.” Dr Adams said.

“Bye.” Jason and I said.

“Third in Command?”

“Oh yeah… Well when you were in America he joined the pack and we were instantly best buds. Then his granddad got ill so he went to look after him just before you got back. He came back like two weeks ago.” He explained.

“And when did you ask him?” I asked.

“The day he got back. After what happened to you, I knew that I had to make sure this pack will always be safe.” He said.

“You’ve got a good point. Are my parents back yet?” I asked.

“Yeah. For a few days but they haven’t been in yet. Too afraid to face up to their mistake. Leaving you alone.” He said angrily.

“Babe, this is no one’s fault OK?” I said raising my eyebrows.

“Fine.”

“What about Dylan?” I asked. I was curious as to what had happened to him.

“He is in the cells. I didn’t kill him. There is another thing I have to tell you about him. You’re his second chance mate.” He said. To say I was shocked would be an understatement.

“But I feel nothing for him.” I said.

“It is because you hadn’t rejected me yet.” He said.

“Oh…” Was all that I could really muster up at the moment. My head was all over the place.

“I feel sorry for him to be honest. He broke the bond with you and he is learning how to control his wolf. I am not letting him out of the cells until you are out of this place. Even though you are awake now. You still haven’t been discharged.”

“I am alive.” I said.

He smiled.

“Good thing to.”

I smiled.

“I don’t know what I would have to do without you. I would have mostly likely killed myself.” He said only truth in his eyes.

“I love you.” I said.

“You don’t know how much I love you.” He said. Then we kissed. It was the most amazing kiss. It was filled with so much emotion. I was hard to keep track of them all.
