Chapter 42

Ally’s POV

It has been weeks since Chloe was converted and right now she is going through heat, which happens as soon as you mate.

It is an awful process to be honest. Personally I have not went through it yet, but I am sure I will at some stage. It is a horrible week in the life of us she-wolves. We will crave for our mates. And of course our over-protective mates will not and I repeat will not let us out of our rooms. Simply because all of the unmated weres will try to… well, you know, mate with us.

I walk up to Chloe’s door to talk to her about how it is all going. Simply, because I have no idea, since I have not yet mated fully. Even though I bear Jason’s mark, I will not go through heat until we have fully mated. Half way there, I guess.

I am about to knock on the door, when it is wildly flung open by a flustered-looking Mitch, I don’t even want to think about what they had just done.

Mitch near bumps into me. “So sorry, Ally, I didn’t see you there,” He whispers.

“It is okay Mitch, but why are we whispering?” I ask curiously, whispering back.

“Chloe is finally asleep, she is driving me crazy! But in good way. I need to go for a run and then I have to patrol the border for a couple of hours. You wouldn’t mind looking after her, would you?” He asks hopefully.

“That is half the reason why I came up here, I knew you were on duty.”

“And what’s the other half?” He asked raising his eyebrows.

“We need a good girly catch up! You’ve been hogging her the last few days!” I exclaim, playfully hitting his arm.

“Don’t worry, it won’t be long until you have to go through it, then you will understand.” He says winking at me.

“No sorry I would rather not.” I said folding my arms across my chest.

“I am going to tell Jason you said that!” He said running away.

“Don’t even!” I yelled after him. I had a slight giggle to myself and went into Chloe’s room.

She was sitting up on the bed. Her brown hair was crazed. Probably because of all the wild sex she has been having lately.

“Hi Clo, I thought you were sleeping?” I asked.

“I was but I heard Mitch leaving.”

“So, how have you been?” I think carefully about what I am saying because she will probably go all crazy on me. Having heat is kind of like have a period, but wolves only go through it once.

“Al, when I am not near Mitch, the bottom half of my body burns. I hate it. If I knew this is what being I werewolf was like, I think I may have just stayed like I was.” She said letting out a quiet sob.
