In Denial

Chapter 14

The funerals were long and dreary. some of them were emotional and some of them were just so boring.

But that was a few days ago and now I am back in school and heading to drama apparently the new teacher is smoking hot and very young. Her name is Mrs Finn.

I get to class and waltz in late as always.

"Hello, I am Mrs Finn nice to meet you..." she trailed off obviously looking to know my name.

"Hello, I am Alexandria White but everyone calls me Ally." I said shaking her hand.

Her face went White like a ghost.

"Sorry, I need to step out of the classroom for a moment." said Mrs Finn.

I took my seat beside Mel."What's up with the new teacher?" she asked.

"I have no idea I just told her my name and she ran out of the classroom."I said with a shrug.

It is all very weird if you ask me.

She came back into the room and seemed to have regained her posture.

"OK so your last teacher, I am sorry to inform you that she won't be coming back. So it looks like you are stuck with me. Now she did inform me that you were working on scenes with your partners before... Well you know."

There was a few sighs and muffles here and there. I just stayed silent trying to figure out what the deal is with this women.

"Well, I want you to finish writing them this period and then on Monday you will be performing them in front of he class. Now get to work."

I was paired up with Mel. Of course. And we set to work we are dealing with a death scene and it is pretty emotional. The bell rang and Mrs Finn asked me to stay behind.

"Ally?"

"Yes?" I asked confused.

"How is your mother?" she asked.

"Huh?"

"Your mother, how is she?"

"Um.. OK I suppose they are out of town for a bit but should be back soon enough." I explained.

"Oh that's amazing to hear, we used to be friends and then I met my husband and we moved to America, but we are back in the area now." she explained.

Everything was silent for a while and then she said I could go to lunch.

I don't know what the deal is with that women but I intend to find out.

The weekend went by really uneventful. It basically consisted of me and Mel rehearsing our play.

The boys were away on some fishing trip. Sucks to be them.

It Monday and I am heading to Drama with Mel I am actually early for change. What is wrong with me?

We got into class and I sat at the back with Mel. Everyone was doing their plays, to be honest they were really bad. Some of them lost sight of the plot completely.

"Ally and Mel you are last." said Mrs Finn wagging us up to the front.

We got up on stage and got set up this shall be.. Fun!

We took a seat at the table and started our dialog.

"Oh Katie I am sorry." I said handing her A napkin as I "spilt" coffee over her.

"I'm alright seriously no worries, Hun." she answered.

"So are you buzzing about the party?" I asked.

"Yeah can't wait which reminds me we have to go shopping later after school."

"OK that is great meet you after school at my car." I said.

"OK." she said and we headed backstage to get our makeshift car out. It was actually a very good job if you ask me.

Then we brought all the clothes out and the we pretended to drive to the fake mall.

"So where do you want to go first?" I asked as we got out of the cardboard wagon.

"Um I don't know. Let's just start off at the front and make our way." she suggested.

"Sure." I agreed.

We started making our way through all the clothes on the rails.

"What about this one for you?" we both turned around and asked each other at the same time. We let off our fake laughs and nodded.

"I love it." we also said in unison.

We laughed and went back stage and put on the dresses we just picked of the rails and came out to the front of the stage.

"Wow you look amazing." I said.

"So do you." we said and hugged each other.

We both went and got changed again.

When we got out of the mall and into the car we skipped right to the party. We got Danny, Jason and a few other friends to come just to make it more realistic. We gt the music pumping and drank our pretend beer.

We acted so drunk and were all playing spin the bottle and then played truth or dare. Danny "dared" Mel to go and run in the traffic naked. So she went backstage and changed into her nude suit. She came out and started dancing about the stage. Then Mitchel rolled the cardboard lorry and it hit Mel. She rolled on the stage. She made it look so real.

All the boys "laughed" and I crouched down beside her.

"Stop laughing you idiots and call an ambulance." I said in fake tears thanks to some eyedrops.

The boys dressed up as paramedics and crouched down beside her.

"Sorry, but your friend has died." said Danny and walked off.

"Katie please come back." I cried hugging her.

Then we got up and bowed. Mrs Finn was in tears. Wow it wasn't even that good really.

"That was incredible you two!" she exclaimed.

"Thank you," we said timidly.

"Well done A plus girls." she said.

The day went by pretty quick after that, but today I decided to follow Mrs Finn and find out who she really is because it has been bugging me. A lot.
