Chapter 29

*First person pov*

     "Well said. You're a real man." Pixis said as he pats Eren's shoulders and stood up. "Call my strategists!! We'll develop a plan!!" Pixis yells to the people down below. "No way... That idea depends on so many assumptions. He's just going to run with it?" Armin asked. "I was thinking the same thing. But there's no sense in doubting his decision. Commander Pyxis must see a potential in something the rest of us can't see." Eren said. "Something we can't see?" I asked Eren, tilting my head to the side like a puppy. "Also, I think there's a bigger issue that must be addressed before the plan could be executed. And the Commander fully recognizes it." Eren said. "What do you mean?" Armin asked Eren. "Titans aren't are only enemy." Eren said. Just when Eren was about to finish, Pixis interrupted. "There's no time to waste." We turned around to see people behind Pixis. "I will need your help, young soldiers."

Time skip~

     Everyone, the trainees and soldiers, we all lined up. Me, Armin, Mikasa, and a few other superior officers were discussing the plan. I was sitting on the edge of the wall, dangling my feet. I wasn't really paying any attention since I couldn't understand this mumble jumble. Hell, they were putting like algebra and stuff like that. Is that Egyptian hieroglyphics!? What's that got to do with anything!? "ATTENTION!!" Pyxis yelled, scaring me. I nearly fell off the wall, but Mikasa caught my arm. "Be careful." Miksas said as she pulled me up. "Thanks... that was too close." I said as I looked down at all the titans below. It's not like they're going to eat me... but I still can't help but feel afraid. I start listening to Pixis's speech. "I SHALL NOW EXPLAIN THE PLAN TO RETAKE TROST!!! FOR THE MISSION, OUR OBJECTIVE IS TO SEAL THE HOLE WHERE THE GATE WAS DESTROYED!!! LET ME INTRODUCE YOU THE ONE WHO WILL SEAL THE HOLE FOR US.... FROM THE TRAINEE CORPS, EREN JEAGER!!!" Eren steps up and salutes everyone. "HE IS THE RESULT OF A TOP SECRET PROJECT TO TURN HUMANS INTO TITANS!!! HE CAN CREATE AND CONTROL A TTIAN'S BODY!!! HE WILL BECOME A TITAN, PICK UP THE BOULDER BY THE SHATTERED GATE, CARRY IT OVER, AND SEAL THE HOLE!!! YOUR JOB WILL BE TO PROTECT HIM FROM THE TITANS AS HE MOVES THE BOULDER!!!" Pixis announced. He paused to let what he said sink into the trainee's brains. "YOU'RE LYING!!! I WON'T PUT MY LIFE ON THE LINE FOR A PLAN I CAN'T EVEN UNDERSTAND!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK WE ARE!!! WE AREN'T.... WE AREN'T PAWNS FOR YOU TO SACRIFICE!!!" A person yelled, it sounded familiar... Dazz? Well, whatever... some other people were yelling but I couldn't make out what they're saying because I was too far away. I heard people panicking, and a faint voice saying: "I'll kill you right now!!" Pixis growls. "HERE IS MY DECISION!! I SHALL PARDON ANYONE WHO DESERTS NOW!!! ONCE YOU SCCUMB TO THE TITAN'S FEAR, YOU CAN NEVER FIGHT THEM AGAIN!!! THOSE WHO HAVE LEARNED THAT FEAR SHOULD LEAVE!! AND EVERYONE WISHING THEIR PARENTS, SIBLINGS, AND LOVED ONES TO FEEL THAT FEAR SHOULD ALSO LEAVE!!!" Pixis yelled. Pixis let the soldiers have a moment to decide. I heard a lot of footsteps coming back, so I assumed that they decided to carry on with the mission. "LET ME TELL YOU WHAT HAPPENED FOUR YEARS AGO!! ABOUT OUR ATTEMPT TO RETAKE WALL MARIA!! AS I'M SURE YOU'RE ALL AWARE, THAT OPERATION WAS NO MORE THAN THE GOVERNMENT'S WAY OF DEALING WITH IT'S INABILITY TO FEED ALL THE UNEMPLOYED!!! IT WAS CULLING!! THE REASON NO ONE SPEAKS OF IT IS BECAUSE BY SENDING THEM OUTSIDE OF THESE CRAMPED WALLS, WE WERE ABLE TO SURVIVE WITHIN THEM!! ALL OF HUMANITY, INCLUDING MYSELF, BEARS THE WEIGHT OF THAT SIN!! BECAUSE SO FEW ESCAPED WALL MARIA, THERE WERE NEVER ANY OPEN REBELLION!! BUT WHAT ABOUT NOW!? IF WALL ROSE FALLS, THE SACRIFICE WILL BE MORE THAN JUST TWENTY PERCENT!! THE TERRITORY WITHIN WALL SINA WON'T SUPPORT EVEN HALF THE REMAINING POPULATION!! IF HUMANITY FALLS, IT WON'T BECAUSE THE TITANS DEVOURED US!!! IT WILL BECAUSE WE KILLED EACH OTHER!! WE MUST NOT DIE EVEN DEEPER WITHIN THE WALLS!!! I BEG OF YOU, TO DIE RIGHT HERE!!!" Pixis finished.

Time skip (There are too many time skips I'm sorry T-T)~

     We were talking with Eren, while Pixis was dealing with the Garrison elite. "Eren, I'm sorry... I ended up making you responsible for everything..." Armin apologizes. "It's like I said before. You have the ability to find the right answer. I believe in that." Eren told Armin. "Eren, I'm going to-" "Please don't tell me you're going to come with me. You've been assigned to the decoy team." Eren interrupted Mikasa. "But I can't leave you alone... If you're alone, you'll-" "Enough!!" Eren yells as he tried to headbutt Mikasa again but she dodged this time. "I'm not your little brother or your kid... I told you that!!" Eren shouts. "Eren, she's just worried about you. Besides, you DID die once, didn't you?" I asked him, putting my hands on my hips. "Not you too!" Eren groaned. "Oh yeah. I'm Mikasa number two and I say I'm coming with you." I said, slinging an arm around him. "You two are on the decoy team! You can't change positions!" Eren shouts. "Cadet Anckerman." a voice called for Mikasa. We turned to see the same guy who called Mikasa back at the HQ before the battle of Trost started. "Join the elite force protecting Jeager. Your skills are needed." With that being said, Mikasa's face lit up like a firework. "Aw shucks, that means I can't go with you guys. Oh well, don't die." I said, smiling. "Let's go." The guy announces as he turns to leave. Me and Armin run our separate ways from Mikasa and Eren. "Hope they don't die." I said as I keep running. "Don't jinx it." Armin said, chuckling nervously. "Well, let's don't think about that. We need to get to the task at hand."
