*First person pov*
I sigh as I look out the window one my side of the seat, watching my house getting smaller and smaller. Well, ex- house that is. I watch as my sister babbling about how exciting it is to get to our new house. How is she so excited about leaving the home we were born and raised in? I'm going to miss this place.... "Hey! Are you listening?!" I glare at my little sister in annoyance. "No." I said plainly, not finding any reason to lie to her and look out the window. After all, my parents taught me to never lie or karma will come back and bite me in the butt. My little sister, Alice, pouts. Her pink eye flashes in annoyance as her red hair puffs up. "You should listen!!! You've been so depressed and mean lately!!" Alice yelled. I glance at her, observing the features of her face. She had red hair tied up in two big ponytails, an eyepatch over her eye while her pink eye was visible. She didn't lose an eye, she just covers her turquoise eye like I do with my golden eye. She claims that she does it the same reason I do, but I have the feeling that she just wants to copy her older sister that she admires so much. I sigh, playing with the hem of my eyepatch that is concealing my golden eye. "Hey! You're ignoring me again!!" Alice shouts as she points at me childishly. My Mom turns to glare at Alice from the passenger seat of our car. "Alice, don't shout in the car." Mom said, glaring at Alice. Alice huffs and sits back in her seat. "Whatever... You treat me like I'm some kid..." Alice grumbles and I sigh. "Alice, you are a kid. You're seven." Dad pointed out as he looks in the rearview mirror to look at Alice. "I'm responsible!! That should consider me as an adult!!!" Alice said. "Says the person who gets grades Ds and below while I get Bs and up..." I mutter, but Alice heard it anyways. "I heard that!!" Alice shouts pointing at me. "Will you two shut up!? We're here!!" Mom shouts, silencing us. I huff and look out the window, strands of my brown hair falling in front of my face even though they were tied up in a ponytail. My blue eye narrowed in disgust at our new house. It was big and nice looking, but I hated it. I get out of the car and get a closer look. Yep, I definitely hated it. I sigh as I turn on my samsung phone and look at the background photo. It was a picture of me and my friends, a group photo. I wish you guys are here with me... I miss you already. I turn it off and head to the moving truck where the movers were. It didn't look like they needed any of my help, so I decided to explore or just greet the new neighbors. I look to my left and see my neighbor was having the yard sale, but no neighbor. I look around to see if I can spot him or her and I did. It was a little old lady with a petite body, smiling as she rocked back and forth on her rocking chair. I walk towards her, watching rock back, and forth, back, and forth. As I get closer I can hear the faint creaking of the wood as I open my mouth to speak. "Hello Ma'am, are you having this yard sale?" I ask her in a polite tone, smiling warmly at her. "Oh! What a polite young lady! Are you here to buy something?" The old woman asks. "Oh, no, I'm moving in to the house next door, and I wanted to greet you. But if something catches my eye, I'll be sure to let you know." I told her. "Oh! You're the new neighbor! I'm Evelyn Kendall, but don't call me Mrs. Kendall, that makes me feel so old. Call me by my first name." Evelyn said, smiling as wrinkles crinkle at the corners of her mouth. "My name is Basilisk Andrea, but please call me Basil for short, it feels awkward when people same my full name." I told her. "Basil eh? What a wonderful name!" Evelyn said, clapping her hands together in delight. "Thank you Evelyn. If you don't mind, can I take a look around?" I ask her and she smiles. "Be my guest." She told me and I wander around. There were lots of stuff. Old stuff, new stuff, shiny stuff, rough stuff, big stuff, small stuff. What caught my eye was a big tv. I looked at the price and it was 100$. My eyes sparkled and I ran to Evelyn in excitement. "Can I have that tv?" I ask her. "Sure, I'll give you it at half price as a welcome gift from me. Do you have to money?" Evelyn asked, with a grin and a gleam in her eyes that I couldn't identify. "I don't have it with me at the moment, but I'll have it tomorrow!" I chirp. "I'll wait for it." Evelyn said, smiling with the same gleam. "I'll see you later! My parents are going to yell at me if I don't help them unpack!!" I shout as I start bolting into my house. "I'll see you tomorrow Basil!!"
Time skip~
*Ring ring!* I get up from my new seat and school and walk out. People were whispering about me because I was the neighbor of the 'witch'. They say that Evelyn was a witch and summons demons to haunt people. I don't believe it, there's no way that Evelyn is evil. Nobody can be truly evil. I walk out the school doors, people running past me to get out. I walk home, a peaceful breeze brushes past me and rustling some leaves. I sigh in content and look up at the clouds. I walk by a elementary school, listening to the kids playing. Ehh.... I want kids of my own... I finally made it back to my house. I drop off my backpack there and head to Evelyn's house. I knock on her door . It surprised me because she opened it immediately, like a jack in a box. "Oh you're here Basil! Do you have the money?" I nod and pulled out 50$ out of my pocket. "It's all here." I said, smiling. "Oh good! Come inside, the tv is ready to be picked up." Evelyn said, opening the door wider so I can slip in. I walk inside and her house.... Very strange. I don't judge people's taste in style and decorating, but this is just weird, too weird for me. There was a bunch of voodoo stuff on the walls, and lots of candles. LOTS OF CANDLES. I walk inside, creeped out and saw the tv on the stairs. I picked it up and gave Evelyn the 50$. "Have a nice day Evelyn!" I tell her as I rush out of the house. "You too Basil! Stay safe!!" Evelyn called out the walked back inside. I walk inside my house and upstairs to my room, excited to try out my new tv. I plugged in the tv and stole Alice's dvd player for the moment. I get my favorie anime out, Attack on Titan, and put it in. I stand back and turned on the tv. It lit up the familiar home screen and I grabbed the remote. Then I get this stupid feeling, like something bad is gonna happen. "Oh I almost forgot! My oreos!" I shout as I rush to the kitchen. I come back with my milk and cookies and sit down. "Alright." I said as I sat down and got the remote. I pressed 'play' and nothing happened. "Is this remote broken?" I ask mysel as I keep playing it. It did something, but it's not what I expected it to be. A bright light covered the tv brightly and a old senile woman's laugh ringing out my ears. Then, a portal like thing opened on my bed. I scream as I fall in.
