The Hell of Titans.... What Did I Do To Deserve this? [SnK/AoT Fanfic]

Chapter 56

(A/N: I'M SO SORRY GUYS I DIDN'T UPDATE YESTERDAY!! I HAD A CONCERT, AND I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO UPDATE!!)

*First person pov*

I don't know why, but I woke up in the middle of the night. I do that a lot, and I never had any explanation why I do it. I guess you can say that I have sleeping problems. I sighed and sat up, putting on my eye patch. I looked around to see everybody sleeping except for Levi, of course. I searched around for Levi, and I spot him sitting at the campfire. Should I go up to him or not? He said that he will kick our asses... Eh, why not. It's better than sitting here. Then again.... I could just watch the stars. Stars are so pretty... But, I feel like socializing. I get out of the sleeping bag, my hair down and messy in front of my face. I move my hair out of the way and made my way towards Levi. "Hey." I said as I sat down next to him. He glares at me then scoots away. "Tch, go back to sleep. That's an order." Levi growled at me. "Eh, no thanks. I have sleeping problems like you do, just not as severe. I wake up in the middle of the night and just can't fall back asleep until, about 4 hours later so I'm stuck with you, Captain Levi." I said, watching the fire cackle and pop. "Tch, so what? Just get back into the sleeping bag and lie there for all I care." Levi said to me, scowling. "Eh!? But that's no fun! Besides... I was thinking that I might take this chance to have that talk." I said, leaning on my arms. "I don't need any talk, brat. Go back to fucking sleep." Levi growled at me. "Jeez, lighten up will you Captain? Actually... this is supposed to be a serious talk so I guess... get serious? Sounds about right... but I'm just babbling. So... back at the walls, why did you snap at me for calling you a savior? Care to explain?" I asked him as I watch the stars. "Tch, I told you I'm not going to be fucking talking. Leave me fucking be, and go to sleep." Levi growled at me. "Hey, I'm trying to help you Captain." I said to him, turning my head to look at him. "I don't need your help." Levi said to me. I sighed then looked back up at the night sky. "It's not good you know... to keep all those emotions all bottled up and locked away in your heart. You should at least let them out every once in a while. Even better, talk about it with someone. It's painful." I said to him. "Tch, I'm fine." I sighed and walked over to my backpack. I pulled out a sheet of paper and a pencil, then walked back. I wrote down 'im fine' in a specific cursive way.

I then flipped the notebook over to Levi so he can read it. "What you said." I said to him. "Tch, and?" Levi growled at me. I just stared at him then flipped the notebook so the words are upside down, reading a different message.

"What you meant." I said to him, as he reads the words. He didn't say a word, just stared at the letters. "Words can mean more than it's supposed to mean, Captain Levi. Don't lie, it's for cowards." Like I am. He just tchs then looks away. "What the hell would you know? You don't know what I went through." Levi growled at me. "Do... Do you know why I'm an orphan? I know I said that my family perished in the fall of Maria... but that's a lie." I said and that got his attention. "Tch, I thought you said that lying is for cowards." Levi said, putting my words back in my mouth. "I know... it's just to conceal the truth... I decided to reveal the truth since it's unrealistic that my mother, my father, and sister died by the same titan." I lied again, but it is unrealistic that the lie my whole family died by the same titan. A few are bound to escape with me. So, I decided to change the lie up a bit. Plus, titans can't eat that fast."You see... I never lived in the Shinganshina district. I lived inside Wall Maria, yes... but not in a district nor village. My family lived in a cabin, growing food for ourselves, just everything was on our own. I never talked to another human being than my family members... Just my sister, my mother, and father." I said as I grabbed a stick and started to draw patterns in the ground. "I yearned to know what it's like outside of my house... where all the other people like me were. But for some reason, my parents didn't want me to know, or even leave 50 meters away from the house without one of them around. So, by the time I was around 8 years old I packed some food, clothes, money, and I grabbed a small wagon and layed my sister in it, bringing her with me." I said, my drawing somehow turning into a wagon... a horrible one at that. "Why are you telling me all this?" Levi asked me. "Well... I've lost people just like you. All because of me, now be quiet and let me finish." I said as I mess up the drawing on the ground so it's blank again, and went back to drawing. "I don't know how long I was walking... I was exhausted, thirsty since my dumbass didn't think to bring water, my feet hurt, but I refused to give up. If I gave up, then I'm bringing my sister down with me. That's partially the reason why I brought her with me, something that I won't lose motivation, and I want her to experience this with me. And it worked. I finally found a small village that I can't remember the name of." I lied as I hugged my knees to my chest. "I ran up to some random house and knocked on it. Some guy with some ugly yellow teeth with a beard opened the door. I don't remember what I said to him, nor what he said back, or what happened after. All I remember is that he held me by the arms and I was screaming, struggling against him. He had my little sister, Alice... she wasn't awake yet but she was tied up. Then the next thing I know, I was waking up in some other place... with a bunch of men and a few women. I had a gag over my mouth and I was tied up, like my sister who was next to me. She was crying..." I lied as I realized the drawing in the ground looked a lot like Alice. "Anyways... They were saying my father's name over and over, and talking about horrible things that they might want to do to us. One thing that they said stuck to me was: 'We'll finally get our money back!' so I suspect my Daddy owed money to them. Time skip a few days... they somehow got Mommy and Daddy to go to whatever place I was to retrieve me. There was a lot of yelling... and crying.... And the people yelled: 'Give us our money!' If you didn't remember... we were doing our own thing in the middle of Wall Maria and provided stuff for ourselves, even medicine, so we didn't have any need for money. So I suspect that before I was born my Daddy lived with people and got into some bad stuff... and owed money so he might have ran away so he can get away from it. Anyways, of course Daddy didn't have any money so one that was yelling and dealing... he turned to me with scissors... walking slowly.... Step by step... left... right... until he was right in front of me. He cut off my gag... I don't know why, but I guess he wanted to hear my screams clearly instead of it being muffled... then kept snipping the scissors in front of my face, open and closed. For a full 30 seconds of him doing that and my parents horrified screams and pleads.... the man oh so slowly held it over my right eye.... Then stopped so he soak in my screams in pleads of him to stop... Then he plunged the scissors into my eye." I said as I touched my eye patch, which still had an eye behind. Levi was just staring at me, his eyes slightly widened. "He kept stabbing my eye... moving the scissors around a bit slowly and painfully... it hurt... it hurt really badly. There was a lot of blood pouring out of my eye as well as tears in the other... My Mommy's pleads to stop was futile... he just kept stabbing! At some point... He tried opening the scissors while it's still in my eye socket, separating the flesh apart. I... My vision in my right eye was gone... I could feel from the vibrations in the ground that the man moving away from me...

(A/N: Another A/N, I decided to change up the lie a bit because like Basil said, it's kinda unrealistic that the same titan devoured my whole family. At least some should survive, and plus, titans don't eat that fast. With those in mind, I wanted to change it.... but this new lie is pretty much turning into a novel XD sorry guys, I'll give you guys another update.)
