So you want to learn to make cover? Well this is the right article to be reading! The first step in the cover making process is finding a picture.

Finding a picture can sometimes be hard. I've looked for up to 20 minutes to find the right picture.

Also, knowing where and how to look for pictures is also something to keep in mind. I find my pictures on weheartit.com, but if you need a copyright free picture (like if you plan on publishing the book with that cover) you will need to find a website with stock pictures that have no copyrights.

To look for a picture, make sure you are specific. If you want a picture of a blonde girl sitting on a bench, then type in "Blonde girl on bench". Sometimes, you have to be less specific though and only look up "girl on bench" because sometimes people don't tag very specific elements in the picture like hair color.

Also keep in mind the quality of a picture. Even if you find the perfect picture, a picture with bad quality will look terrible. Make sure you find pictures that don't look fuzzy or are displayed very small.

The last thing to consider when finding a picture, is having space for the title. If a picture has no room, you may get stuck with having to put a box over some of the picture so the text can be seen. Sometimes boxes look good on pictures, but most of the time they don't.

Here is my challenge for you this month: Find the perfect picture. it will need to be a high quality and have room for a title. You can post a link in the comments below, or PM @EllaRosewood

a link, or just keep it to yourself.

Next month we will be talking about editing softwares and the basic edits.
