chapter 37. Dream or reality

Lexi's POV

Pain. That's all I felt as I shot up from bed.

"Ahhhh." I screamed and carl jumped up.

"The baby." I screamed and he helped me up. He helped me down the stairs and to Denise. The cold night air felt suffocating to me as pain traveled up back.

"I cant."i said and almost fell to my knees but carl caught me.

"Come on lexi." Carl said and helped.me the rest of the way. We stormed in the doctors and Denise jumped from her chair.

"What's wrong? "She asked and helped Carl put me on a bed.

"The baby. But somethings wrong." Carl said as I screamed again. Tears were pouring down my face as Denise forced my shorts off my body. I felt as if the baby was tearing my body apart. This can't be happening. I looked down and there was blood all over the bed sheets. I grasped Carl's hand and he came close.

"Carl. I'm dying." I mumbled and he started crying and shook his head.

"No. I will NOT loose you or this baby. I wont!" He yelled in anger and  I shut my eyes.

"Lexi you have to push." Denise said and i braced myself for the pain that will come. I pushed followed my pain in my lower area and threw out my body.

"I cant!" I screamed and i started seeing spots around the room.

"She's loosing too much blood." Denise said and carl started yelling at her to do something.

"Carl I'd this baby makes it take care of her. You'll be an amazing dad. I love you do much." I said and he shook his head. I pushed again as hard as I can't and finally heard crying. I got one look at my child before I blacked out.

Carl's POV

"No! She can't be gone!  No!" I screamed and fell to the floor as Denise cleaned my baby. Lexi's gone. Shes dead.

Lexi's POV

I shot up from bed with sweat all over my body. I looked at the clock to my right, 12:04 pm. I sighed and got out of bed and changed. I put on some shorts and one of Carl's black shirts. I wonder if I should tell carl about my dream. Ehh probably not, I mean it's just a dream right?

I walked over to carl and started to rub his back. He slowly woke up and smiled.

"Morning babe." He said and leaned up to kiss me. I smiled and he got up.

"I'm going to work at the garden so I want you to stay here and rest. Carol will be here with you. " He said and i nodded. I hugged hum and he kissed my head.

"Be careful. I love you so much."he said and left. I sighed and sat on the couch in front of our window.

"Knock knock. " carol said and walked in with a box of cookies.

"Hey Carol. Whatchia got there." I said and she laughed.

"Cookies for you and carl. " She said and sat them beside me. I got one and took a bit.

"Mmm you always have the best cooking." I said and she chuckled.

"So have you talked about names yet? " she said and i nodded.

"We've been talking about Taylor, Andi or Dally. " i said.

"Those are cute." She said and i smiled.

"I'm home." Carl said as he walked inside.

"Good. It's getting dark." I said and he kissed me.

"Yeah so how ya feeling?" He asked and sat next to me on the couch. I shrugged and like on que i felt a kick.

"Woah. She kicked hard." I said and chuckled nervously. He rubbed my belly and felt another.

"Woah there hun!" He said and i held my stomach lightly while sitting up more straight.

I felt a pain I haven't felt before and grunted.

"Are you okay?" He asked and started freaking out.

" i think she's coming. " i said while loosing my breath.

"Okay okay.... DAD MICHONNE! " he yelled and they came running downstairs.

"The baby's coming." He told thek.and Michonne and carl grabbed each side of me. They helped me across the street and into Denise's office.

"It's time." Rick told her and she brought out the supplies she saved for this moment. Another sharp pained went up my back and i started breathing heavily. They helped me on the bed and have me a breathing mask. Denise took off my pants and put a sheet over my legs.

"She already dilated. Push when i tell you." She said and looked again.

"Okay 1...2..3...push!" She said and i did. Pain was all I felt and i screamed.

"Your doing great lexi." She said and Daryl barged in. He was at my side in minutes and she told me to push again.

Another few pushed later... I felt lightheaded when i heard a faint scream followed by a cry.

"Meet your baby girl lexi. You did great. " Denise said and i smiled as she wen to clean her off. I saw spots everywhere and grabbed Carl's hand.

"I think I'm gonna pass out." I mumbled and he yelled for Denise. She rushed to my side while Michonne took the baby.

"Lexi just breath...." She said and looked down at all the blood on the sheets.

"Carl..." i said before my head fell back and everything faded into darkness.
