Chapter 34. No Way out

Carl's POV

I made sure Lexi didn't leave my sight. Judith was still under my sheet and i just hoped she wouldn't start crying. Everywhere I looked walkers surrounded us. We all walled together in a line to who knows where. Alexandria is ruined. There's nowhere to go from here.

I looked up and the sun was setting slowly. My dad pulled us behind a tree and we plan grouped together.

"Okay once we get out we find a car and draw them away." Dad said.

"What about Judith." Jessie chimed in. He glanced at me and Gabriel jumped in.

"I'll take her to the church." He said. Dad hesitated before nodding. I handed her over to to him and Michonne looked at him.

"You got this?" She asked and he nodded.  Jessie told Sam to go with him but he refused. We all got in our line again; dad, sam, jessie, lexi,me, Ron then Michonne. We started walking again.

I looked up at lexi and squeezed her hand. I felt a squeeze back and i kept walking.  Sam started crying and he stopped. He moved out of line and a wave of nervousness washed over me.

"sam what are you doing?" Jessie whispered. He didn't say anything. 

"Come on sam." Ron tried. Nothing worked.

"No no no." Sam muttered. Before anyone could do anything walkers attacked each side of same and started tearing at his skin. I heard a whimper from Lexi and Jessie screamed. Jessie cried and screamed and it was attracting walkers. I saw that she had a hold of lexi's arm and wouldn't let go. Walkers movies towards jessie and bit into her.  Lexi screamed and started pulling trying to get out I'd jessies grip.

"Dad!" I yelled and he looked over. He got his axe put and started to chop off jessies arm.  I heard Ron yell and lexi came tumbling back into my arms. She had blood all over her face and we tried to run but heard a gun behind us. We all turned around and saw Ron pointing my gun at my dad. He was crying and Michonne stabbed him through his back. He fell limp and shots were fired. Nothing hit me tho. I turned around and no saw Lexi holding her shoulder.

"Lexi!" I yelled and dad picked her up. We started running towards the infirmary. Tears were pouring out my eyes cause lexi was loosing blood fast.

When we made it to the infirmary Denise let us in.

"Gunshot? "She asked and dad nodded, setting lexi on a table. Denise immediately started surgery and Michonne made me stay back. Dad took his sheet off and rubbed his face. Lexi was groaning in pain and it made me cry harder. Dad grabbed his axe and walked out the door.  I tried to stop him but Michonne stopped me.

"Carl! Stay with lexi I'll back him up." She said and left.

"Hold her down! " Denise yelled at me. I ran to lexi and held down her flailing arms.

"Carl!" She screamed in pain and tears were pouring down her face.

"One more. " Denise said and pulled it out. She than wiped the hole and sowed it up.

"Give her some time to rest." She told me and I nodded.

I looked at my dad and he was covered in blood.

"You took them all out? "I asked. He nodded and I glanced outside. All the walkers were dead.

Lexi's POV

I laid down on a bed with a bandage over my shoulder. Carl walked in and i smiled. He sat next to me and kissed my head.

"Denise said I should be fine. " i said and he smiled. He grabbed my hand and squeezed my hand.

"Dad said when we can we're gonna clear this place out. Rebuild the walls. Maybe be safe." He said and i nodded.

"i just want what's best for you and the baby. I don't know what I'd do if I lost you today." He said and kissed me.

" i love you to much carl. Your the best thing that has ever happened to me."

"I love you too lexi. You and this baby is the only thing that keeps me sane. I love you two so much." He said and leaned his forehead down on mine.

Hey yall! So I'm back! Sorry this chapter was so boring cause I switched it up a little and um SO SORRY  it took me so long.

And this story is at 17.7K!!! I love you guys so much! Thank you all!

And I will try my best to update next week. I've had the flu or i would've updated yesterday.
