chapter 38. Beautiful

Lexi's POV

All i saw was black. Am I dead? No cause I heard muffled voices. I tried moving but failed. I tried talking but failed. A million thoughts were going threw my head. Is carl okay? Is the baby okay? My whole body felt numb as me hearing got a little better.

"She's healthy. Have you guys agreed on a name?" I think it was Denise.

"We were deciding between Taylor, Andi or Dally.  But I want her to decide, if she wakes up." I knew that was carl.

"She will wake up. Shes doing better." Denise said and it grew silent.

Carl's POV

"Hey baby girl." I cooed to my new born baby. She yawned and shut her eyes.

"Here lemme feed her while you got sit with Lexi." Denise said and took the baby from me. I smiled and walked over to lexi and sat in the chair next to her.

I looked at her pale face and sighed. She laid there still and that's what worried me the most. That she'll be like this forever; frozen.

"Lexi. We had a beautiful baby girl. Shes so precious and so small. She looks like you. I can't wait for you to wake up and meet her." I said and tears welled up in my eyes.

"Please lexi. I can't do this without you.  Please..." i whispered before breaking down.

Lexi's POV

Carl was sitting next to me balling his eyes out. I wish he knew I was okay and I was alive. I'm just passed out. Just let me do anything!

I felt my hand twitch and the sobbing stopped.

"Denise! She moved." Carl said and i heard running.

"Lexi..." i heard my brothers voice. Daryl I'm okay!  I wanted to scream but nothing came out. Okay, I'm going to try my hardest to wake up. Come on lexi! Come onnnn!

I made my eyes open and it hurt like hell.

"Oh my gosh lexi!" I heard carl scream as he bent over and hugged me. It took me a while to gain my strength to move my arms and hug back.

"You were right. She is so small and precious." I said and looked at the small baby in my arms.

"You heard all that?" Carl asked while blushing slightly. I nodded and kissed her head. She opened her eyes and looked at me.

"What about her name?" I asked carl. He moved closer to me and smiled.

"I want you to pick." He said and i looked down at her. Hmmm.

"i really like Andi Elizabeth Dixon/Grimes." I said and he smiled at me once again.

"I love it." He said and kissed me. He went and got Denise so we can fill out a piece of paper that's supposed to be the birth certificate but oh well.

When they were done filling it out, Denise brought a baby bed next to my bed. I laid Andi down and she went back to sleep.  Carl laid next to me and kissed my head.

"Goodnight. My two little girls." He said and i smiled.

"i love you." He whispered. He kissed my forehead.

"i love you too." I said and went to sleep.
