No one really realised how Leora Malfoy died. Some said it was due to an unfortunate accident, some that it was dragon pox and other that she was murdered. No one could have guessed that she had took her own life in an act of desperation. Tortured by the feeling of despair and losing her husband, abandoned by what seemed everyone she cared about - she made a desperate attempt at her own life.
The first time, you were home. Your mother thought you were asleep but you woke up when you heard her fall to the floor. She cut her wrists, though the moment she saw you she started to sob and you stood on the other side of the kitchen watching her pass out. And you managed to despite only being four at the time, and she lived.
The second time, the time she finally succeeded to take her own life was just a year later. Your mother's brother Lucius took you with him that day for a sleepover at the Malfoy Manor with his son Draco. That same night Leora did it. She backfired the killing curse directly at herself, though how - no one knew.
Lucius told you it was never explained. You didn't remember most of it, expect for her first attempt and he didn't want to talk about it.
Even since that day you lived with your uncle, aunt and Draco. Lucius told you he adored his sister and was devastated by her passing, you were the only piece of her that he had left. Both adopted you as their own and you called them 'mom' and 'dad' despite knowing you weren't actually their daughter.
