Scarlet/ Maddison POV

I woke up hearing a heart monitor and groaned. I slowly opened my eyes and all I saw was white.

"Am I dead?" I whisper. I hear someone laugh. "Nope." Natasha came into view holding Artemis who was sleep.

"What happened?"

"Your memories started to collapse in on itself and you had a seizure." I nodded.

"okay."

"What do you remember?"

"My mom dying, meeting Tony. Pulling pranks with Clint. Basically everything, I guess. Some things are foggy." She nodded and handed me Artemis.

"Why do you look so different?" Nat asked.

I tilted my head and pealed a small piece of latex off. She stood there shocked and I laughed.  

"It was necessary so no one from my past recognized me... How did you know it was me?"

"I know those eyes anywhere." She smiled.

"Hey can you ask Pirate if I can have a room? The cell is getting cramped and I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." She giggled at the name and left.

Within an hour I was granted my request but what I didn't expect was to be in my old room. Natasha had a few agents move Artemis's crib to the room. I looked under the bed and found a duffle bag. I pulled it out and tossed it on my bed. This was the bag I had when I ran away. I opened it and pulled out the skateboard that Nick made for me, a photo album, and my old phone& charger.

I plugged my phone up to the charger and turned it on. I went on Instagram and saw I had over 100k notifications. 

Well damn.

I then took a picture of Artemis, who was sleeping, and posted it. I then saw a hashtag that said '#RipNicoleFamily. That made tears well up in my eyes.

 I went through my messages and saw my friends blew up my phone.

'Where are you?'

'How u holdin up'

'Are you oka'

I deleted all them.

Then I grabbed the skateboard and smiled thinking about a stupid idea.

Tony's POV

I was on my way to the cafeteria when I heard.

"EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT. THE AWESOMEST GIRL IS COMING DOWN THE HALL ON A SKATEBOARD."

Maddie?

I turned around and saw Scarlet flying down the hall on a Skateboard. But not just any skateboard. Maddison's board! 

"Hey!" I yelled stepping in front of her.

"What do you think you're doing?"

She tried to stop and ended up tripping and sliding on her stomach. I looked down at her. 

"Dude you're suck a buzz kill." She said getting up.

"Who gave you that board?"

She looked at it then back up to me. "Would you believe me if I said it was mine?" She mumbled but I caught it.

"What?"

"I-I umm found it in the room you guys gave me. I used to ride so.." She looked up at me sad.

"Give me the board." I snatched it from her. "Didn't your parents teach you not to take other people's things?" 

"Well my mom is dead and my father thinks i'm dead, so no." 

"Hmm... which happens, moms die and dads tend to do that, no need to be a pussy about it."

"Who pissed in your cereal?" She glared at me and walked away.

I sighed and looked down at the board as a tear escapes my eyes.

Maddison/Scarlet's POV

I headed back to my room and went to sleep. Only to wake up at 3 am. to Artemis crying. I got up and picked her up. 

"Morning my little monster, why are you up so early? Are you hungry?" I kissed her on her head and left the room. I tiptoed to the cafeteria with Artemis in my arms. The cafeteria was empty.

I walked to the freezer and pulled out a small tub of vanilla icecream and spoons. I grabbed a banana and sat down. Artemis finished the banana and stared at me eating my icecream.

"Nope, it's too early for you."

She gave me puppy dog eyes.

"I swear sometimes i think you actually understand what i'm saying." I gave in to those adorable eyes and fed her a little bit of my icecream. Then I walked towards the gym, knowing Steve probably would be there. When I entered he was punching a bag with only the light above him on. 

Just like how we met.

I sat on the bench and put Artemis on the ground . She stood up and started to walk over to him giggling. He heard her and stopped punching.

"Hey where did you come from?" He picked her up and she laughed.

I ate a mouthful of icecream. "Trouble sleeping?" 

He looked up at me and squinted. "I slept for over 70 years, i think I had my fill." I laughed.

"While you were sleep were you rehearsing that line?" He froze, I can tell what he's thinking so I continued.

"For some reason I had a dream, just like this, only I was 18. You were standing right there," I started walking towards him slowly. "And I was sitting on the bench eating icecream. And I started to make you mad. You said 'Shouldn't you be sleep kid' and I said something like 'Shouldn't you be in an old folks home." Then I paused a foot away from him. "Isn't that weird... Gramps?" 

His face was completely shocked realizing who I was. I smiled and waved. "Hi Steve." He didn't reply.

I grabbed Artemis from him and she pointed at his face giggling. I looked back at Steve and saw tears coming out of his eyes. I stepped closer to him and wiped them away.

"Soldiers don't cry." I smiled.

He looked down at me and pulled me close. I looked into his eyes and smiled. His hand made its was to my face and he caressed it and I leaned into his touch closing my eyes. Next thing I knew his lips were on mine. I smiled and kissed him back. Artemis must have not liked being this close so she started to squirm, making us pull apart. 

Steve looked at me. "How?"

"It's a long story Gramps." He chuckled and kissed my forehead."God I missed you."
