chapter 44

Riley's P.O.V.

we pulled into our flat and saw the door wide open. me and Danielle looked at each other terrified. we slowly walked into the house. Danielle made me go first. we saw that there were a bunch of things broken and windows smashed.

"you search the rest of downstairs while i check upstairs." i went up the stairs holding an umbrella for a weapon. i checked the bathrooms and Danielle's room. i was now going to check my room. my door was wide open. i walked in pro cautiously. i saw a guy standing there in all black going through my jewelry. he grabbed my moms necklace and put it in his pocket. i went up behind him and hit him in the stomach with the umbrella. he fell to the ground. i took off his mask and saw it was

my abusive ex boyfriend. he he hit me in the stomach. i fell to the ground in pain. he kicked me in the side and ran out. i clutched my stomach as a tear rolled down my face. Danielle screamed and then came running up the stairs. she ran over to me. by now i was sobbing. i was in a lot of pain and he took the last thing i have of my moms.

"are you okay?! are you hurt?!!"

"he hit me in the stomach and then kicked my side" i said in almost a whisper. she lifted up my shirt. she gasped. i looked down ad saw a big bruise on my side.

"do you want to go to the hospital?"

"no I'm fine." she helped me up and down the stairs. we went into the living room and Danielle sat me down. she left the room then came back in with an ice pack. there was a knock at the door. Danielle went to open it. Liam came storming in with a mad look on his face.

"what the hell did you do to harry?! he wont come out of his room and said something happened with you!" i was shocked. Ive never seen Liam this mad. Danielle came rushing in.

"babe calm down, let her explain" Danielle said.

"Ive been getting a lot of hate so i broke it off with him." i said plainly.

"hey did you dye your hair? and why are your windows broken? why do you have an ice pack?" he asked us.

"yes i did and because someone broke in and the person who broke in hit me in the stomach and kicked me in the side." i said trying to hold back the tears.

"did you see who it was?" Danielle asked me. i just nodded. i broke down and started sobbing.

"who was it?" Liam asked comforting me.

"my ex boyfriend. he took my mom necklace." i said sobbing. they both gave me a hug. i just sobbed into their shoulder.

"guys my side really hurts" i said as i got a sharp pain in my side. i fell to the ground in pain.

"I'm calling an ambulance." Liam said. the pain was getting worse and worse by the second. i was crying hysterically. i heard sirens getting closer. then paramedics came in and out me on a stretcher. they put me on it and into the ambulance.

"Danielle, you go with her, ill meet you guys there." Liam said. then i got a sharp pain in my chest. i let out a scream.

"Riley, what hurts?" one of the paramedics asked me.

"my side and my chest." i said in a whisper. once we got to the hospital, i saw them push Danielle aside. she had tears streaming down her face. i remember them putting on a mask and then everything went black.

the next morning

i woke up in a hospital bed.

"ah Ms. Bard your awake." a nurse said.

"why does my side hurt?" i asked her.

"you were kicked and one of your ribs punctured your heart which is why you were having chest pains. but luckily we got there just in time so the puncture didn't go deep enough for it to be threatening." i let out a big sigh.

"so when do i get to get out of this place?" i asked anxiously.

"tomorrow."she said giggling. my smile faded. i looked beside me and saw Danielle and Liam with tear stained faces. they were both looking at me.

"guys, I'm fine. its gonna be okay." i said giving them a reassuring smile.

"the rest of the boys are on their way." Liam said. great. the rest of the boys. that means harry. oh no. speak of the devil. the other 4 boys walked through the door.

"what happened?" Louis asked me.

"all Liam said is to meet him at the hospital because you were hurt" Niall said.

"okay well after me and Danielle got our tattoos" once i said tattoos everybody's eyes went wide. "okay well i went to the mall and got my hair dyed then i got a tattoo on my wrist and my belly button pierced. and i came home and Danielle wanted to get her belly button pierced and then she showed me what she wanted, i loved it so we went and got it. see" i said then me and Danielle lifted our shirts and revealed our tattoos. "anyways, after we got those done we came home and saw our door was wide open. Danielle was checking the downstairs and i was checking the upstairs. i had an umbrella as a weapon. i went into my room and saw a guy dressed in all black. i hit him in the stomach with the umbrella. he fell. i took his mask off and saw it was my ex-boyfriend." Harry's eyes widened. he is the only one that knew out of them. "then he got up and hit me in the stomach and then kicked my side. then Liam stormed in and started yelling at me asking what i did to harry, so i told him what happened. i thought i was okay because i didn't have any pain, but then i got a sharp pain in my side and then in my chest. and here i am"

"what happened between you and harry?" Zayn asked.

"you didn't tell them?" i asked harry. he shook his head no.

"we- i decided to break it off because i was getting a lot of hate."

"so you just broke up with him and broke his heart?!" Louis screamed at me.

"i cant believe you would break his heart like that!!" Niall screamed.

"i cant believe you!!!" Zayn shouted. i wasn't going to sit there and let it get to me.

"were you abused by your dad for 8 years?! were you bullied for 6 years?! the things they are saying about me on twitter is exactly what i heard everyday since i was 12. if you knew what i went through then you would do the same thing!! were you raped by your own dad?! no i don't think you were! so don't come to me saying that I'm a baby , because you don't know what i went through." by the end of my shouting speech, i had tears streaming down my face.

"Riley why didn't you tell us you were raped by your dad?" Liam asked.

"he told me not to tell anyone. i was 14." i said crying harder.

"Louis, Niall, and Zayn, leave" Liam said sternly. the three of them walked out with their heads hung low. i was just sobbing into Danielle's shoulder. now it was just Danielle Liam and harry in my room.

"hey i heard you were in here, i just wanted to say hi." when i saw them walk through the door, my eyes filled with tears and my mouth went dry.
