You Forgot me

A new friend

Lux pov:

I woke up to bright sunlight peeking through the window into my eyes. I stretched and rubbed the crust out my eyes. I looked down at the empty bed next to me. Where is cam?i realized i was still in my room and last night was just a dream. I pulled the sheets from around me and quickly walked in the bathroom and brushed my teeth with a new toothbrush from under the sink.

When I was done I walked in the kitchen to see cam leaning on the counter sipping a mug of coffee. He looked deep in thought. "morning." I mumbled a little embarrassed about my dream last night. He just nodded his head my way and walked in the living room. I know it shouldn't have hurt my feeling but it did, and I have to stop now..

I made myself some coffee and sat at the kitchen table. I was leaning back in my chair just looking at the ceiling when Cam walked in. 

"I called my mom and your's and told them the situation, my moms out of town and won't be back till next week and your moms said she had things to do, so I guess were stuck here till then." He said not really looking at me.  

"whatever." I said walking into my room, or his aunt's, or whatever. I picked out some jeans and a crop-top I found in the back of the closet. How old is his aunt and where dose she go shopping? I just pushed the thought away and  put on my sandals back on.  

"where you going?" Cam asked as I walked to the door. "I'll be back." Was all I said before walking out the door.

I left the beach and walked around the small cute town that was close by. I did a little window shopping and finally sat down at a Dun-kin Donuts cafe. I ordered a Caramel ice coffee and a strawberry creamed donuts, luckily I put my wallet and phone on the cooler before my car was stolen.

I sat was eating my food when I saw a little boy walk in. He had light brown skin, a puffy curly Afro, big round brown eyes, clothes that looked to big for him and no shoes. I watched as he asked people for spare change.

"Excuse me but do you have any spare change I can have?" He asked. His eyes watered and I knew if I turned him down he would break. "sorry I don't." I said and his face fell and a few tears rolled down his cheek. He began to walk away. "But I can buy you something to eat." I smiled. His Eyes shined bright and he gave me the cutest smile showing off his dimple in his left cheek.

He sat down from across me and put his head down playing with his fingers. I waved the waiter over to the table. "Yes miss?" He asked I looked at the little boy. "what would you like sweetie?" I asked. "um just a milk." He whispered. The waiter wrote it downJaden. "actually he'll have a burger, fries and a raspberry milkshake." I said. The boy looked at me surprised. "Don't worry I'll help you finish." I winked. He laughed and put his head back down. "So what's your name?" I asked him. "Jaden." He said. "well my name is Lux ." I said and he just nodded. "Jaden where are your parents?" I asked. "Dead." He whispered. "where do you live?" I asked. "the orphanage, but they kicked me out, they say I was taking up to much space." He said as the waiter brought his food out.  stuffed his mouth with food then washed it down with the milkshake. "Good?" I asked. He couldn't respond with his mouth stuffed so he just smiled and nodded.

After Jaden was finished he wiped his mouth and stood up to leave "Well bye, thanks for the food Lux." He said. "Wait. How about you come with me." I offered. He looked down the street then back at me. "Well OK I don't have any other place to go." He said. "Come on little man" I smiled taking his hand  in mine and we walked back to the beach house.
