Peridot's face lit up with satisfaction. She was smiling at her accomplishment and admiring it. She couldn't wait to show her work......

Steven sighed as he looked at the setting sun. It had been a week since they started the work. Freddy seemed to be losing determination every day. He no longer talked to Steven. Well he did, but only to fetch him something. Freddy was becoming more and more lazy and rude. He treated Steven like he was his servant. Steven stacked a few piles of scrap metal. He would carry them inside once he was done. Peridot asked for alot of scrap metal and Pearl asked for machine parts. Steven didn't know why Pearl needed parts. Maybe she was building another giant robot. He flicked a curl out of his face. He needed a haircut. Sweat was all over Steven's back. "Hey Steven!", bossed Freddy. "Can you fetch me my microphone?" The little teddy was grinning. Steven groaned and stopped his work. He located the microphone inside the Universe van. He gingerly picked it up and set it beside Freddy on the hay bale. Freddy grabbed it and held it in his little paw. "psst!" Steven heard Peridot call to him inside the barn. He quickly ran over there. Steven widened his eyes as he saw a complete Golden Freddy suit before him. "Yes, I finished." Peridot proudly said. "Pearl only helped me map the blueprint!" She scowled. "But how will he come to life?" Steven asked. The immediately atmosphere changed. Peridot rubbed her arms. "I don't know......" She whispered. The tiny gem was getting a little nervous. Steven knew it. He couldn't bear to look at the terrible truth, but it hit him hard like a big dark wave, waiting to swallow him up. Goldie... Couldn't.... Relive...... It was impossible to bring life to a empty suit. Not even The Marionette knew how to bring back to life the 2nd dead. Hope vanishes through the dusty air. Peridot bowed her head and said "Pearl, Steven, lets go...." She beckoned Pearl and Steven. After they all got out, she quickly closed the barn doors. Pearl gave Peridot a funny look. "Freddy....." Steven whispered. He went over to Freddy and hugged him. Then he started sobbing. Hard. "I'm sorry Freddy, there's nothing we can do...." Freddy dropped his microphone in slow motion... Freddy's eyes blinked with tears. "I............ Knew.................. It..........." He whispered. "I.......... Just........... Thought......... You.......... Could........ Help......" Slowly the teddy burst into quiet tears and sorrow pierced his heart. He would be forever alone................
