As I stood gazing at Vanessa's house, the cold enveloped my body as the freezing lust of wind took the place of my spine. It wasn't cold, or else I wouldn't be wearing a crop top that's for sure. But the thought of going into that house again makes me shiver.I stared at the house that was in front of me, then at Michael. My mind wandered into the past, as I recalled that day I first came here.

"All you do is put the blame on other people. First it's Alex and now," I snapped, "it's my mom."
"I'm putting the blame on her because I love her. She's my best friend, and she's always been the person I trust the most," michael took a deep breath and continued, "I lost a part of me when she left, trust me caring about other people's feelings won't get you anywhere," he groaned, "I learned that the hard way."
He leaned heavily against the doorframe. He was wearing a black leather jacket, which smelled like a strangely sweet combination of cigarettes and cinnamon.
I rolled my eyes as Vanessa came to the room, and slammed the door shut, placing her hand on her hips. "Let's go shall we?"
"Go where?"
"A little trip to mommy's house."
---------
"Who's Vanessa again?" dad uttered as I finally came back to my senses, and looked around. Red roses covered the garden, filling every gap on the soil. Dandelions grew out of every corner, shadowing the fiery roses that were standing below it. "She's a friend," Michael replied, "also a witch." I knocked on the door a few times, but no one answered.
"Vanessa!" I shouted through the dark oak door, "it's Hailey!"
I paced around the porch for a few seconds, and took out my phone to call her. "I don't have her number," I sighed, "Michael can you call her?"
"Maybe she's not in town," dad stated firmly, "we'll come back la-"
"Oh hey guys," I heard a small voice squeak from behind me, "I'm glad you're back." I turned around frantically to find a hot girl dressed up in a black leather jacket and spiky laced boots, "hey vanessa," I smiled as she pulled me into a hug. Wow. She's actually hugging me.. that's an improvement. "Hmhm," michael coughed eyeing the both of us sarcastically, "I'll have some coffee please." I laughed as he stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her, hugging her in a way I never thought he was capable of.
Leaning on the doorframe, I felt like I've been standing there watching them hugging for hours now. "Hailey," dad whispered poking my arm, "earth to hailey," I shook as he pushed me into the house closing the door behind me, "no time for jealousy princess."
"Pfft. Why would I be jealous?" I replied assuringly. "Oh I don't know, you just kinda drooled while looking at them hugging," he laughed, "trust me there's nothing to worry about."
I nodded. He's right. Why should I be worried? They've been together for a really long time, I can't expect him to shut her out can I? Not that I wanted that.
"You're right," I smiled, "and plus this isn't the right time to play games."
The walkway leading up to the living room was cracked on the sides, the light in the corridor itself was spooky enough to call this house haunted. Let alone the crooked stairs that twirl around along the side. Now that's another story.
