He stared at me silently.

"Alex," I sighed. "How do you know me?"

He smiled.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I rolled my eyes, but we both knew that deep down I was melting.

"Hmhm," he coughed. "So, Hailey. I don't believe I've introduced myself yet."

"Im Alex," he whispered, then smiled at me, "Alex Donovan."

Donovan? As in, David Donovan?

King David of The Kingdom of Darkness.

"Y-You're-" I stuttered. "You're Prince Alex?"

"In the flesh," he nodded.

"I'm sure I've seen you before," I let out a sigh. "But where?"

"You don't remember me?" He asked, hurt running through his eyes.

"Should I?"

"Hailey," he took a deep breath.

I swear I've seen this guy before.

"I know you!" I sighed in frustration, "but I just can't remember.. I really c-"

"You're my sister."

I could feel myself tense up.

I don't know whether it was anger, or sadness. But the fact that I have a brother and I never knew about it, brought out feelings in me I never knew existed.

"My dad, who you probably know as King David, was married to your mother a long time ago before he died."

" Wait, hold up," I breathed out, running a hand through my curly hair. "This is too much for me to take in."

"I know," he smiled. "I'm sorry, take your time."

I stared at the floor for what felt like hours, trying to make up what he just said.

All these years, I had a stepbrother and no one bothered to tell me.

I thought Angels of Darkness were all dark and horrifying like they sounded, but they were just named that way.

Not all of them are full of "darkness."

I finally looked up, and a shy smile curled up his lips as our eyes met.

I was blinded by my feelings, that I didn't even recall a word of what he said to me earlier.

"Wait wait," I stopped.

"You're my BROTHER?!" I shouted, "ugh why is my luck always this horrible?"

"Stepbrother.." he bit his lip seductively.

"And I actually thought I might have a chance with him," I whispered to myself, laughing.

"I heard that," Alex smirked.

My eyes shot up suddenly. "Uh, no you didn't."

He nodded.

"Whatever, listen up," I waved him off. "My dad wants to see you, but I don't know why. I'll pick you up tomorrow and we'll leave to see him. Okay?

He hesitated. Then sighed. "Alright, I'll be here."

"I'll see you later," I smiled and admired him one more time.

This is gonna be harder than I thought.

"Wait, Hailey!" Alex called out from behind.

He quickly caught up with me, tightly grasping my waist and turning me around.

I felt like everything I've tried denying has backfired now, I could hear his heart beating. "To properly answer your question, technically we aren't brother and sister, because we have separate bloodlines."

"Alex.." I began.

"Why are you here?" he asked, never daring to break our gaze.

"Because my dad wants me to be here," I said nervously. "Look.. I don't know."

"Do you still have feelings for me?" he asked.

What?

"Still?" I asked confusingly. "How can I still have feelings for you if I never even had them in the first place?"

"So, you're telling me you can't feel anything right now?" He smirked, looking into my eyes.

"Let's just go somewhere where we can't talk about this shall we?" I grabbed his arm and took him to a café, so he wouldn't try to play his seductive games.

"Okay seriously," he huffed angrily. "Stop trying to avoid me."

"I'm just doing what's right." I smiled and called a waiter from across the room.

"And the fact that you think any of this is right, probably makes you the dumbest person-"

I interrupted him before he finished.

"What do you wanna drink?" I asked, smiling innocently.

Alex gave me the look. The look was basically telling me to shut up.

"Okay, we'll take two of those," I nodded, "thank you." I smiled to the waiter, and as soon as she was gone he started arguing again.

"You know, I didn't forget what I said before you interrupted me," he said with an adorable smile on his face.

"Before you say anything," he whispered, leaning closer to me. "None of this is right, babe."

I swallowed heavily.

"I know," I managed to blurt out. "I know it's not, but I don't care. Oh, who am I kidding? Of course I care!"

"We're just hanging out," he rolled his eyes. "Don't make a big deal out of it."

He's right.

"Yeah," I took a sip of my coffee. "Hanging out."
