Did you know that the first book was published in the same year the Battle of Hogwarts happened? I open at the close. Battle of Hogwarts: May 2nd, 1997 Publication date of Philisoper's Stone: June 26th, 1997 Really close!

EDIT: As CharlotteDoraLupin pointed out, the Battle of Hogwarts took place on May 2nd, 1998 so it doesn't really work, but the second book was published exactly two months after the battle of Hogwarts happened (July 2nd 1998), but it isn't I open at the close anymore... Pity...
