The next day, Jeanette was at her locker, eager to meet Simon after their last class of the day. It was already the end of school lessons, in fact. She was looking through her library books in the locker which she already finished reading, handpicking what to return.

"Do it again, Alvin, it's like so, awesome!" She heard Jenny speak, turning to see the group of popular girls following Alvin.

She shook her head, seeing her best friend's brother being such a popular kid. She wondered why Simon's brothers could not be more like Simon himself, but then again, everyone is their own person. She just did not really like Alvin's narcissistic personality and arrogance, thinking so highly of himself.

However, generally he was an okay person to Jeanette. He was still a good friend no matter how arrogant he could be. She remembered on her last birthday when Alvin pulled a prank on her and made her believe she could fly using red powder, but later on apologised with concern written all over his face after she fell from the treehouse.

"Alright, just one more time." Alvin gave in, eager to impress the girls.

He skated right towards the wall on his skateboard, and pulled off a backflip stunt with the support of the wall and landed back on his skateboard, wowing the girls. Alvin smirked and threw them a wink. He looked in front to see Jeanette and he began to panic.

"Jeanette!" He warned, pressing the brakes.

Jeanette turned around and gasped in shock, dropping her books clumsily. Alvin managed to stop in time just inches away from Jeanette's forehead as Jeanette kneeled down to retrieve her books.

"Sorry, Jeanette. Hehe, I-I didn't mean to startle you." Alvin rushed forward to pick up the remaining books.

"Oh, it's okay Alvin. You were just trying to woo the girls. I understand." Jeanette brushed dust off her jeans as she got up, looking at the crowd of girls.

"That was incredible!"

"That stunt is so awesome!"

"Bye Alvin!" The girls cheered and left.

"Yeah, girls. They all seem to be attracted to skater boys." Alvin chuckled, picking up one last book for Jeanette.

"Not all girls like skater boys. We all like different types of guys." Jeanette shook her head in disagreement.

"Are these library books?" Alvin examined them before handing them back to her.

"Yeah, I'm going to the library with Simon later on." Jeanette answered.

"You two are always spending quality time together, whereas I'm stuck today with..." Alvin stuck out his tongue in disgust.

"That drama queen." He shuddered at the thought of Brittany.

"Brittany?" Jeanette assumed, puzzled.

"Yeah, I have detention with her. Starts in a few minutes. We got it for a major fight in class." Alvin scratched the back of his head.

"Brittany's not that bad, Alvin. She's just sassy, that's all." Jeanette chuckled.

"But deep down she cares for us all." She added.

"I really hate it when a girl doesn't like to admit she cares." Alvin scoffed.

"She's always trying to prove me wrong." He complained.

"Trust me, she's just trying to defend her opinions. She likes to think that she's right all the time, but she'll apologise when she really knows she's wrong." Jeanette explained, closing her locker.

"Can I tag along with you and Simon?" Alvin asked as Jeanette began to walk down the hall.

Jeanette stood rooted to the ground in surprise and turned back to Alvin.

"Alvin, I'm not sure if Simon would agree to that. It's just the two of us." Jeanette explained.

"Besides, don't you find the library boring? You said so yourself." She added as a reminder.

"Well, there's nothing to do. Anything is better than being with Brittany, but there's nothing else. No parties, or any good tv programmes tonight. It's getting a bit old playing my video games." Alvin groaned.

"Ooh, I know. Why don't you and Simon help me with my homework at the library? Yeah, yeah!" Alvin suggested.

"I don't know, Alvin. Maybe some other time? You have to attend your detention. I'm running late for... Something." Jeanette tried to excuse herself, omitting the truth that she was supposed to be meeting Simon at that very moment.

"Fine, go ahead and leave this poor guy all alone with the Queen Bee." Alvin scoffed dramatically.

"I'm sorry, Alvin. Maybe next time." Jeanette offered and walked away, feeling slightly guilty for ditching Alvin like that.

Simon waited patiently on a bench outside school, his nose in a book. Jeanette walked over, admiring how Simon looked just merely reading a book, no signs of annoyance that she was going to show up about fifteen minutes after school.

"Hey Simon." Jeanette greeted, startling her counterpart.

"Oh, it's just you Jeanette." Simon chuckled, placing a bookmark into his book before keeping it into his bag.

"Did you wait for long? I'm so sorry if you did." Jeanette apologised.

"It's okay, I was here just ten minutes ago." Simon smiled at her, hopping off the bench.

"The fact that you make ten minutes sound so short is amusing." Jeanette laughed.

"It is never too long to wait for a girl. We boys have to be used to it, otherwise we won't be right for any girl." Simon made his point.

"Wow, Simon. That's actually very true." Jeanette admired his deep respect for girls.

"Shall we get going?" Simon kindly gestured her to walk first.

"Yeah." Jeanette adjusted her glasses, walking beside him.

"But what held you back though?" Simon asked curiously, his mind wandering to different imaginative answers.

Was she perhaps making an extra effort to look pretty? Well, she certainly looked the same, and still pretty. She couldn't have done anything to try to look better. Or perhaps she was looking through educational questions to clarify with him? He was just almost like a tutor to her. Then again, she only brought her light backpack.

"Alvin." Jeanette responded quietly, but still audible enough for Simon to hear.

"A-Alvin?" Simon was puzzled.

"What did he want?" Simon frowned.

"He wanted to skip out on detention with you and me." Jeanette explained.

"Typical Alvin." Simon shook his head.

"What did you do?" He turned to Jeanette, wondering curiously.

"I kind of just left him there." Jeanette laughed.

"Really? Gee Jeanette, that must be the rudest thing you've done yet in your life." Simon joked.

"Yeah, and I feel guilty already." Jeanette sighed.

"Don't worry about it. Alvin is quite a troublemaker who deserves detention." Simon gave Jeanette a small soothing rub on her back in an attempt to cheer her up.

"Yeah, I guess so." Jeanette laughed at Simon's description.

With that, the pair continued walking to the library, conversing about life matters. They talked, laughed, argued a little, made up after that, and continued to crack more inside jokes.

A/N: it's only building up. I hope it's okay though! This few chapters will be like my own original episode, and I will use two tv episodes in the story to highlight some moments :3
There's already a hint on which episode in Chapter 1! :D
