A/N: Don't be disheartened, Simonette fans! I feel sorry for Simon too! But it's not the end yet, so there's still a chance! ;)

Simon sat by Jeanette in the school library, remorseful of not telling her about his feelings. She was right all along. He would have regretted not telling her. But how could he tell her now, when she had already chosen her brother?

He looked at his best friend as they walked down the shelf full of romance books, conflicted between accepting the fact that she was going with Alvin, or pour out the truth about him to her. Perhaps she would change her mind, or... She would also not be his friend anymore. Simon was stuck.

Jeanette felt Simon looking at her, and so she turned to him. Frightened by the sudden eye contact, Simon cleared his throat, looking away. Jeanette continued looking at Simon in concern.
She could not help but feel that something was out of place. He was indeed acting strange.

"Simon, are you okay?" She looked at him quizzically.

"Peachy." Simon responded, examining a book.

"Simon, something is definitely wrong. You're not into romance books. I'm the one looking for a story." Jeanette pointed out.

"That's right. I uh, I'm just wondering about the school dance." He revealed.

Could he be worried about me? Jeanette pondered to herself.

"What about it?" She asked, walking further down the shelf with him.

"Oh, nothing. Just wondering..." Simon struggled to let words fall.

He didn't even know how to begin if he were to confront her about it.

"Why are you going with Alvin?!" He blurted out.

"Simon." The librarian, who happened to just walk past the shelf, eyed Simon with a warning look.

"S-sorry." Simon apologised, and the librarian padded away.

"I figured it all out. He's Ammon. And he also asked me yesterday through a text message." Jeanette explained.

"H-he did?" Simon choked on air.

"Yeah. Isn't that sweet of him? Well, I was kind of hoping for someone else, but, he's sweet." Jeanette blushed at the idea.

"W-who's the someone else?" Simon asked, raising his hopes for the mention of his name.

"Oh, no one. I mean, the boy I expected probably didn't even feel the same. But now I know the boy who feels for me. And, I just feel so flattered." Jeanette sighed dreamily.

Not wanting to pry, Simon looked down in disappointment.

"Are you planning to step further into... Whatever this is, with Alvin?" He quizzed her, wanting to know his chances with her.

"It really depends on everyone's approval. I'm pretty convinced he likes me. Although, something tells me Brittany isn't fond of me going with him because she has been ignoring me the whole morning." Jeanette confided.

"Well, I can see why. Alvin can be a jerk at times." Simon suggested indifferently.

"Honestly, you people should stop stereotyping Alvin for the little things he does every day. He can be annoyingly immature, but he has a heart of gold, liking someone or not. He cares for us all." Jeanette shook her head at Simon.
