"How was Jeanette the entire day?" Alvin asked Simon as they walked down the halls together.

"I couldn't find her during break. I think she was in the girls' bathroom. She wasn't at the library, or the cafeteria, or even reading letters by her locker." Simon told Alvin his perspective.

"I tried to help-" He wanted to add when something caught both of their eyes.

From a distance, Jeanette zoomed past in front of them. They scurried to follow her, catching a glimpse of her entering her locker.

"Jeanette?" Simon called, but there was no response.

"Um, J-Jeanette? We know you're in there." He spoke.

Then came her sweet tiny voice muffled through the locker.

"How do you know?"

"Uh, because we saw you walk in?" Alvin responded.

"... Oh." Jeanette replied.

"A-Alvin? Can you come in here?" Jeanette pleaded, surprising Simon.

What could be so important involving Alvin? Jeanette opened her locker door to let Alvin, and Simon tried to refrain from sulking.

"What's the problem Jeanette?" Alvin asked, setting his bag down.

"W-well, because of today in class, I feel really embarrassed, even around Simon." Jeanette looked down.

"I really want to get over my shyness." She told Alvin.

"And you want me to help?" Alvin assumed.

"Yeah, if that's all right with you." Jeanette responded.

Alvin could not believe his ears. Jeanette was asking him? Alvin felt that Jeanette was regarding him as a closer friend and grinned widely.

"Yeah, sure." He answered casually, leaning against her locker wall for support with his arms crossed.

"But why don't you ask Simon?" He asked, for clarification.

"Oh, you were great presenting just now." Jeanette smiled at him.

"Really? I thought I annoyed the acorns out of Miss Smith." Alvin shook his head in disagreement.

"The little trick you pulled was very flattering." Jeanette giggled.

"Did you write about yourself?" Jeanette guessed.

"Yeah, I did." Alvin laughed.

"But you're not a secret agent." Jeanette shook her head in amusement.

"Let me pretend I am one, Jeanette!" Alvin whined.

"You're really smart, you're able to figure anything out." Alvin smirked at her.

"Which just proves why I asked you, Alvin. You're the bravest person I know, well, aside from J.K. Rowling. Even Simon can be a little shy at times." Jeanette explained.

"Ah, I see." Alvin looked at her with a smug look.

"So you'll help me?" She beamed brightly.

"Yeah, I will." Alvin nodded his head.

"Oh, and Alvin. If it's possible, help me overcome my shyness before Brittany's party this Friday?" Jeanette begged.
