As Simon approached his locker, he felt a tap like a feather on his shoulder. Expecting his best friend to show up, he was rather astonished to meet face to face with Brittany, the glamour queen of the school.

"Brittany? What do you need?" Simon asked politely.

"You like Jeanette, I like Alvin. They're going together. Why don't we team up, to get what we both want?" Brittany asked smoothly with a smirk.

Simon raised an eyebrow. He had other plans with Jeanette on their hangout, but going with Brittany would give off an entirely different image to Jeanette, and perhaps giving Alvin more reason to claim her.

"Have you thought this through?" Simon looked at her uneasily.

"Oh yeah, totally. So what do you say?" Brittany asked once more, sticking out her hand.

"How is this going to help us both get them? It's only going to ruin their date." Simon shook his head, causing Brittany to let her hand drop back to her side.

"That's pretty much the whole point." Brittany examined her nails while talking to Simon.

"Come on, Brittany. Why don't we just try to change their minds about going together?" Simon suggested.

"Alvin's already tried that with Jeanette, I believe." Brittany bluntly remarked.

"He's a sweet talker. Of course he could get Jeanette to go with him. Oh, you're right." Simon sighed to himself, upset with the thought.

"I don't believe she even likes Alvin. She just wants to go with someone cool." Brittany argued.

"Actually she wanted to go with someone who likes her. Jeanette's not that kind of girl, you should know that. She just wants to be loved." Simon explained.

"He... Likes her?" Brittany felt her heart shatter.

All this time of teasing her and flirting with her, Alvin liked another girl? Let alone, Jeanette? Brittany doubted what she heard was real. The information sank in slowly. Simon softened upon looking at Brittany react in a shocked way.

"Y-yeah, he does." Simon revealed, looking at her concerned.

Brittany stayed silent for a moment. Simon stepped forward, placing a hand on her shoulder and patting it lightly to comfort her.

"Hey, don't be disheartened. I totally understand how you feel, and-" Simon began.

"He's... He's such a jerk!" Brittany raged, causing Simon to back off instantly.

Whoa, she reacts more aggressively than Jeanette on this topic, Simon stared at Brittany wide-eyed as she ranted in frustration about Alvin being a jerk.

"How could he?! You know, I actually thought there was a chance he liked me, but was always afraid to admit that!" Brittany continued to rage, throwing her hands up in frustration.
