The next morning, the chipettes sat quietly in class, right next to the chipmunks. Brittany kept herself wary of her sister, hoping she would not do anything out of the ordinary again. So far, for three periods, Jeanette has not tried anything, much to her satisfaction. But within her relief, she held her fear too.

"Uh, Ms Smith?" Jeanette raised her paw.

Oh no, please no, no, no, Brittany prayed in her head for Jeanette to simmer down and ask just a simple question.

"Can I sing a little opera for the class?" Jeanette suggested.

Sing opera? She isn't even a mezzo soprano! Brittany completely lost control of herself.

"Why are you torturing me?!" She grabbed Jeanette, shaking her.

"Sh! Her brain is like, jumbled from falling out of trees!" Annie hushed Brittany.

Who is she to tell me that? Brittany glared at her friend.

"What? No, I'm just trying to get over my shyness." Jeanette explained.

"What?" The whole class broke into confusion, looking at Brittany for truthful answers.

Simon turned and glared at Alvin

Simon turned and glared at Alvin.

"What?" Alvin asked Simon cluelessly, mirroring his look.

"Well she has fallen out of trees..." Brittany defended her lie.

"Look, whatever, she's weird okay? But, she's not invited to my party!" Brittany blurted out.

What? Jeanette pondered in shock, knowing that her ears were not playing tricks on her.

Is that how she sees me? She pondered further, Brittany's words piercing through her heart.

"Be at my place at seven o'clock!" Brittany announced, cheering.

Jeanette picked up her books, unable to face Brittany anymore. She strolled out of the class, ignoring Miss Smith's instructions to stay put in class.

Simon looked at his best friend walking out with her face facing the floor. He then glared at Alvin.

"Look at the outcome of your advice. Are you happy now?" Simon folded his arms.

"I-I didn't think it would go that far..." Alvin scratched the back of his head.

Brittany looked at Jeanette's seat, realising she was gone. Eleanor shook her head at her older sister.

Some sister she is, Eleanor thought, running out of class to comfort Jeanette.

"Jeanette, wait!" Eleanor called.
