You were sitting in bed watching Elf, your favourite Christmas film; something you did every Christmas Eve. You had seen the film so many times you could nearly recite every line. Just as you felt your eyes slowly closing your phone started buzzing beside you. You unplugged it from the charger and swipe across the screen; accepting the call without even looking at the Caller ID.

"Hello?" You answered the late night call with a sleepy voice.

"Shit, sorry. Did I wake you up? Trust you to be asleep so early on Christmas Eve? Scared you won't get your presents from Santa?" The voice on the other end of the phone teased. You knew exactly who it was from the minute they started speaking; Bradley, your best friend.

"Yes, you did wake me up. Don't you know that he knows when you're awake. No sleep equals no presents, Bradley." You laughed, playing along with his joke. "Anyway what did you phone me for?"

"Can't I phone my best friend in the whole world to be the first person to wish her a Merry Christmas?" Brad grinned, laughing slightly.

"No, you can't..." You laughed back, "Seriously what is it? I know you wouldn't ever call me just to say Merry Christmas."

"You know me too well. Well, there is something..." You knew Brad was going to ask you to do something for him. "It's a pretty big deal to me you know, I would love you soooo much if you did it."

You felt your heart race as soon as Brad mentioned the world 'love'. The fact he was referring the word to you and him made your stomach fill was butterflies. You had always had much deeper feelings for Brad.

"I thought you did already love me?" You teased, unsure of the answer you were going to get.

"Of course I do! But I would love you so much more if you did this for me..." Brad laughed.

"Fine, what is it?" You grinned back.

"I need you to phone Em tomorrow and tell her to meet me in the town centre at 2 o'clock..." Brad giggled.

"What? Why can't you just phone her and tell her that yourself? Why have I got to be your little messenger?"

"Cause it's a surprise... She thinks I've not got her anything, but I have. All you need to do is phone her tomorrow in the morning and tell her to go to town. Don't say I'm going to be there but make sure she goes." Brad rambled on.

"I dunno Brad, she might be busy tomorrow. It's Christmas Day... She's probably gonna be spending it with her family; which is what you should be doing." You sighed, rolling your eyes. You couldn't stand the thought of Brad with Em.

"Please, Y/N? I wouldn't be asking if I didn't trust you..." Brad knew exactly what to say and do to get you wrapped around his finger.

"Fine..." You huffed, unsure of why you were agreeing. "What did you get her anyway?"
