Friday nights where our nights to spend time together. Our busy schedules have been always in the way, but somehow we always made time for each other. Sometimes we would go out but most of the time we just cuddled by the fire and watched movies. Every Friday was a different movie with different snacks. Tonight we just had popcorn with hot cocoa, which was fine by me.

"Got the popcorn?" I asked.

"Yes i'll be there in a second, got the hot cocoa?" he asked.

"Waiting for you." I smiled as I walked into the den.

I placed the blankets near us as I took my seat on the couch. The fire cracking as the tv turned on, the smell of popcorn running through the house. He pushed play when he walked into the room, sitting down next to me. Placing the bowl of popcorn between us as the movie started. At first I didn't know what movie it was but soon I realized he had a scary movie on. I wasn't big on scary movies, but it's what he wanted to watch so I was up for it.

I leaned towards him as I pulled the blanket over us. His arm slipping around me, pulling me closer to him, resting my head down on his shoulder. I could feel my heart pounding fast as my eyes were glued to the screen. I heard the chainsaw start up and I jumped out of my skin, I heard him laughing slightly as I sat back. I pushed him slightly as I moved closer to him, my heart still pounding, but up in my throat now. I continued to watch as the blood started to flow. My ears were ringing as my body started to get scared, my heart beat was faster now than ever. I covered my eyes as the chainsaw started back up. He held me close to his chest, keeping me safe in his arms. He soon turned off the movie once he knew that I was beyond scared.

"Hey its okay.." he whispered.

"Why would you want to watch that?" I asked as I tried to catch my breath.

"Thought it would be fun, didn't know you didn't like scary movies." he said.

"Its what you wanted to watch so I was up for it." I said.

"Babe you are shaking, its okay." he said as he kissed my forehead.

"Its just a movie." I said. I was trying not only to make him think I was okay, I was trying to convenience myself that I was okay.

"Another movie maybe?" he asked. "Its pretty late, think we should get on to bed." I said as I got up.

"Sure, " he said as he followed me.

We made our way to our bedroom, I couldn't shake the images of the movie. I got ready for bed as he was laying down, I got into bed as he wrapped his arms around me. I had calmed my heart rate down but my head was still going a hundred miles a minute. I rested against his body as he pulled the cover over us.

I fell asleep quite easily, but that didn't mean I would stay asleep. Around midnight or so I started to toss in the sheets, breaking free from his grip. I shot up in the bed as I heard the chainsaws going off in my mind. My hands were sweaty as my heart started to pound, the ringing back in my ear as I removed myself from the bed. I made my way down the stairs, slowly at first before turning the corner. I didn't know what I was looking for but it seemed like I was in the movie, I grabbed the knife from the counter as I continued to walk. The light flickered on and I turned to face whoever it was with the knife drawn back.

"Babe." he said.

"I'm not your babe." I said. Still in my nightmare state as I didn't know it was Brad standing in front of me. I just saw someone standing in front of me not knowing if they would hurt me or not. He stepped closer to me, my breathing got faster as I held the knife.

"Baby, it's okay." he said as he held his hands up. He soon got the knife out of my hand and held me close to him, that's when I awoke from the horrible nightmare. It's safe to say after that night we didn't watch anymore scary movies.
