Briar's
She was excited and so happy when one of her crew told her that the man named Miguel is waiting outside. Her best friend came back.
She walks outside, and when she saw a man standing not far away, she called out his name.
"Miguel! She called him, running towards his best friend.
When Miguel heard her voice, he turned around and ran towards her and scooped her up and spun her around.
They were laughing.
Miguel is like that ever since they were little.
"I miss you!" Miguel said.
"I miss you too," she replied.
Miguel put her down and cupped her face.
"You look more beautiful than we were teens," he said.
"And you're handsome too," she replied.
"How did you know I was here?" She asks afterward.
"I went to your parent's house; they told me that you're here. I can't believe this. My best friend is the most promising wedding planner in Switzerland," he said, looking at her admiringly.
"Why don't you just stay in my parent's home and tell them to call me?" she asks.
"I am not going to stay long. I just arrived from the US tonight. I'll be going straight to Brazil to be with my fiancée. And since you're my best friend and the best wedding planner, I want you to plan our wedding," Miguel said happily.
"Really? You're getting married?" She asked him excitedly and hugged him.
"I'm so happy for you. When will the wedding be?" She asks.
"We wanted it to be sooner. Before she showed," Miguel said, grinning.
She laughs.
"Wiseman," she replied.
Miguel laughs too.
"Okay, here's my number, and let's discuss when you will be going to Brazil to plan our wedding," Miguel said, pulling out his business card from his wallet and giving it to her.
"You mean she's from Brazil?" She asks.
"Her grandparents are from there, and she wanted our wedding to be there. In Rio de Janeiro," Miguel replied.
"Okay, I have two more weddings to cater after this; they will be finished by next month. So after that, we'll talk about your wedding," she told him.
"Sure, just call me." Miguel hugs her again and says goodbye.
"See you next month," she said.
She turns to walk back inside the building when she notices the two men getting out. It's Matheus and Rafael. Where are they going? Where are the two? She continues to walk.
"Hi Briar, we decided to leave first. Lucas and Flavio are with Laly and Jenny," Rafael told her.
"Oh. Okay, thank you for coming, and have a safe trip to you both," she said, looking at both of them.
"Thank you!" Rafael replied.
"Bye, Briar!" Rafael said after
"Bye, Rafael!" She replied.
She wondered why Matheus never said a word. He just stood there. What happened?
She walks back inside, and Rafael was right; the four are seated at the empty table. They are just talking and laughing. She walks towards them and they acknowledge her presence.
"Hello there!" Laly waved at her.
"Hello too! I think everything's fine now. All clear. We can leave the place now if you guys are ready to head home," she told them.
The men look at their watch.
"I think we should leave now. It's nearly one in the morning already," Lucas said.
"Really? We didn't notice the time. It seems still early," Jenny chimed in.
"I'll check with the management if they're still here. If not, I'll talk to them tomorrow." She told them and walked toward the management office.
The office is already closed when she arrives, so she comes back to the four. She noticed that the bridesmaids are still there. She doesn't mind. The event is already done a few hours ago. She needs to go home now.
"The office is already closed," she told them when she arrived at the table where they were seated.
"That's fine; I can come back tomorrow," Jenny replied.
"Thanks, Jen, I can do it," she replied.
"Okay guys, shall we go home now and get some sleep?" She continues.
"Sure, I think I'm sleepy now," Laly replied, smiling and making a fake yawning
"Me too," seconded Jenny, and copied Laly.
The two men are laughing.
"Silly ladies. Let's get out of here now and sleep." She commented, grabbing her handbag at the table in front of her assistant.
"You ladies are fun to be with," Lucas said.
"Agree." Seconded Flavio.
"We are just being human," Jenny said.
"And what about those?" Lucas whispered, pointing his lips to the table where the bridesmaids are seated.
The four of them burst out in laughter and quickly stand up and walk faster to reach outside.
When they reach outside, they burst out in laughter again. She doesn't know what made them laugh so hard with what Lucas said while they are inside.
"Hey, guys, what's so funny? I can't relate to all of you," she said.
"Promise you won't tell Caren." Flavio looks at her.
"Promise." She said, raising her right hand like taking an oath.
The four are holding themselves back from laughing.
"Well, those are not human. They are a serpent. You know why? They cling to you like they are going to devour you. And they hiss," said Flavio, laughing.
"Hey, you guys are harsh," she said, but she also couldn't control herself from laughing.
"Are we not going to go home yet?" Laly interrupted.
"Of course we will. I don't like to have Garfield's eye," Jenny replied.
"Me either," she replied.
"Wait, how are you going to go home, guys? Do you have a car?" She realised that the two men would go back to the hotel.
"Oh, bad. Rafael and Matheus drive the limousine," Flavio said.
"Okay, I'm sure you guys know how to drive, right? And I'm sure you have a license. Use my car; Jen and I will go with Laly," she suggested.
"That's great, thank you, Briar. Yes, we do have a license, and we have an international license as well," Lucas replied.
"Awesome! It's settled then. So let's go now," she said.
"So see you tomorrow, ladies," Flavio said.
The three of them get inside Laly's car, and so do the two men in her car. Laly drives.
They drive first, and the men follow.
She will figure out how to get her car tomorrow, but for now all they want is to get home and have some sleep. She still has to work in the morning, and so do the two ladies.
