This is her last night at Santa Catarina. She will miss this place, her grandparents, her aunt, and the time she has spent in Mr. Carvalho's vacation house. She will carry the memories in that house, though it's only for awhile. Being held in those strong arms, she definitely wouldn't be able to forget it. Not just yet. Maybe in time, but there's no definite time either.

She hasn't felt that kind of feeling with a man in her almost twenty-nine years. None of her dates have made her nerves tingle. Or her heart flutters.

"Go away!" She commanded to her thoughts of him that occupied her head right now.

She set her alarm for six so she could be at the airport before eight. Her flight is at ten, but she's the person who doesn't like rushing. For her, it's better to wait than rush.

She's ready for tomorrow's flight. She has packed everything she needs to bring back to Switzerland. Some of her clothes just leave it at her grandparent's house, so when she comes to visit again, she doesn't need to bring too many clothes again, especially night dresses.

She forces herself to sleep. She doesn't know what time she adrift into her dreamland, but she's sure not long ago before her alarm goes off. She got up lazily and went straight to the bathroom.

After she finished her morning ritual, she came down with her suitcase in tow. Her grandparents are awake, seated at the dining table. Well, old people never get up late.
"Good morning, Grandpa, Grandma." She greeted them.

"Good morning, you, Briar," they said in unison.

"Have a seat and eat your breakfast." Her grandma told her.

"I'll just have my coffee, Grandma; I don't like to travel on a full stomach."

"Imelda has prepared for breakfast; she thought that you might like to eat. It's not heavy. Just take some bite." Her grandma insisted.

"Okay, I'll just eat scrambled eggs and a slice of toast, and my coffee."

"That will be fine. Honey, can you pass me the toast, please?" Her grandma asked her grandpa.

"Here."

"Thank you!"

"Here, Briar, here's the butter and jam."

"Thank you, Grandma."

"When are you coming back again, wish?" asked her grandma.

"Honey, she hasn't left yet. You are already asking when she will come back," said her grandma, smiling at her grandma.

As she watched her grandparents looking after each other. She wishes that she would find the same man as her grandpa and her dad—how they loved and cared for their wives. That kind of life she wanted when she wanted to settle down. She will settle with the man who will put her in his priorities. Not just some adornment in his life. She wanted to be a part. And vice versa.

After eating her breakfast, she kissed her grandparents goodbye. Anselmo, Imelda's husband, is already waiting for her. He will drive her to the airport.

"Anselmo, I hope next time I visit, you and Imelda are already settled. I'm the big house. Grandpa and Grandma are not getting any younger. I'm sure they will be very happy if you two move in."

"Miss Briar, I will talk to Imelda about this."

"Hope you would convince her to move in. My grandparents will be delighted once you tell them you'll willingly move in. They're waiting for long already."

"I'll do my best to convince Imelda, Miss Briar."

"I'm looking forward to that, Anselmo."

They drove through the airport quietly after.

They arrived earlier than expected. Early is the best time to travel; there are not too many vehicles on the road.

After thanking Anselmo, she took her suitcase out of the compartment and waved goodbye to the man, then walked inside the airport lobby.

She checks if it's okay to check in her luggage. She moved towards the airline counter, and when she saw that some were in queue for checking in, she did the same.
