"You just got what?" Lillian, Psyche's mother, was surprised to hear the news that her daughter-her cynical daughter-would get engage in a span of a week.

"Mom, I'm engaged." Psyche said, trying to put a cheerful tone even though it felt a bit sour on her tongue.

"I thought you don't want to get married."

"Well, I couldn't deny the feeling that I have always been in love with Eros ever since-we were in...in-uh.."

"High school. Freshmen year." Eros said, holding Psyche's thin hands.

"So, you have been in love with Eros?" Lillian asked. "I thought you hated him."

"It was just some act. I was young and shy and he was popular and all that shiznit." Psyche gestured a wave of hand.

"Well, how did you propose?" Venus, Eros' mother, as stunning beauty of 45, asked.

"It was on the street. We were in some kind of fight-there were some issues between us. When granny and grandma Helena said to let us try dating with each other we had a thought to ourselves. That's where we had our fight  but I didn't want to let her go anymore and so, I proposed to her on the street. I know it's a week but we've known each other for so long but never get to expressed it with each other until last week. I mean, why wait when we've been in love for a long time?" Eros smiled at Psyche and Psyche smiled back at him.

"Isn't that romantic?" Helena exclaimed, clasping her hands together.

"It is romantic! I knew you two are going to see it someday." Beatrice said, sighing.

"So, when is the wedding son?" Victor, Eros's father asked.

"We haven't thought about that yet." Psyche answered, quickly.

"Wouldn't a spring wedding be perfect?" Venus began to suggest.

"Oh, yes. Psyche would look good in a tulle plain skirt."Helena joined in. "With flowers on her head. Oooh, she'll be like a flower-child bride."

"Any my son, in a black suit." Victor joined in.

"No, he looks good in a brown suit. Very vintage and classic." Venus said.

"Could-could you excuse me for a minute?" Psyche squeaked., standing up and left.

"I'll follow her." Eros excused himself and followed after Psyche.

"Oh my god. It's harder to breathe the longer I stay there." Psyche fan herself with her hand as she sat in the step at her grandmother's patio. Eros looked at Psyche and decided to gave her some comfort.

"You did good anyway. You said everything that we discussed and we planned."Eros said, as he stood close to her.

"I just...I just couldn't bring myself lying to them. Especially to grandma and to your granny."

Eros sat on the steps beside her. "We'll just have this act go for a month or two and then we'll end it. I'll make up some reasons why."

"Wow. You said it easily."

"Well, you said so yourself, people would eventually call it quits when one doesn't seem to find their marriage to go any further. No one chooses to fight for those vows anymore. Because they were empty words to begin with."

Psyche looked at Eros." I didn't know you read my articles."

"Granny told me to buy your aunt's newspaper. And I've come across to one of your articles."

"Sad to know that only 2 out of 10 got to be published."

"Because you-my dear-" Eros tapped Psyche's nose with his point finger, "are too cynical."
