"Good evening. We are delighted to be here and to listen each ones romantic stories. They were wonderful, by the way. Truly inspiring." Eros began, standing up in a poise manner something Psyche hates to see when his businessman persona turns over. "Our story wouldn't begin with a love at first sight nor being high school sweethearts nor a bump on the street. Our story began way way back to where we were still little kids."
The people began to chuckle, their eyes filled with excitement as they waited for Eros to share their story that they didn't know its false.
Eros looked at Psyche and she looked back at him, "It began in a very unromantic way: we didn't like each other." The crowd began to laugh. "Yes-we didn't like each other. We didn't understand why we have to do things together-blame our parents. Or better yet-our grandmothers." Once again the crowd laugh.
After the laughs died down, Eros continued, "Our innocent minds didn't think that our grandmothers were doing a matchmaking out of us. We followed their orders but it only grew out more tiresome for Psyche and I. And that was the reason probably that they grew tired of us and let us be. Thank god for that but somehow, fate has its own way."
"We began to grow as little kids. That was were we had a little discovery of ourselves. I remember that Psyche always play either as my knight or my servant while I become a prince."
"Well, he was considered handsome even when we were kids." Psyche voiced out.
"I was always handsome." Eros corrected but not from irritation but from amusement. "And I remember she was hated for being close with me before. Girls her age would surround her in groups and she would always be defenseless."
"Did you save her?" a voice shouted.
"Oh yes. I did." Eros answered back and everyone applauded. "I did save her because she was my friend."
"But the jealousy of those girls only grew and raged into fire. I was just glad that we moved to a different neighborhood when I got in to middle school." Psyche shared. Yeah. I moved after the divorced.
"That was one of her times where she felt down and as a childhood friend-I comforted her. Visiting each other or sometimes a talk through the phone or just go play by the park with our bikes." Eros continued. Psyche chuckled at this because she remembered it well. "Remember that time when we had our bikes by that river down and got chased by some dogs?"
Psyche nodded, laughing. "How could I? I scraped my leg after I fell down by the time we reached my place."
"Yeah. But never did you cried and I really find you weird. I find her weird." He told her and then to the crowd. "But then her weird ways always fascinated me. And I think...I found myself liking her that time."
Psyche got caught up in his words, enough to have a quick look to him but he never looked at her back.
"But of course, she didn't know that time. And I didn't want her to know anyway. You didn't know, right?" This time he looked at her with a signal to just go with the flow. She could have been convinced that his words were true but, she got back to her senses.
"I didn't know of course. I never did. Now I get it why you were so extra caring about treating my wounds that time. It surprised me that he was really being gentle, dabbing the cotton on my wound, asking me if it hurt. His actions were so surprising that I felt like special to him in some way that I got lost of the moment and find myself falling for him." She shared and with an instant, they were being cheered. She looked at Eros and grinned, giving him some sort of challenge that she could also add some good story too.
"And so, thus begin our days were we hide our feelings for each other and that was also the time we grew distant with each other." She continued. "We had our different circle of friends and different group labels-I mean, it was high school. And that was also the time he became Mr. Popular. Dating a lot of girls that time."
