Chapter 1

Abbeys POV

Selena and I sat in our room at the orphanage. We had been here for years. Selena was my sister. Well my half sister to be exact. Same dad different moms. You see my dad cheated on my mom and we were born a month apart. My mom and Selena's mom we're best friends from what we know, they left us both with our dad who wasn't ready for kids so he took brought us here. Over the years we've been adopted a few times and we've went through hell but here we are. We were listening to Little Mix like always, I love Jesy Nelson and Selena loves Leigh-Anne Pinnock. Tomorrow we get to meet them at the Little Mix concert/CD signings it was a lot of money for the two of us to spend but it's totally worth it. "CHANGE CHANGE YOUR LIFE AND TAKE IT ALLLLLL" Selena and I were belting out when Lucy came walking into our room

She laughed before saying "Abbey! Selena! Time for dinner! Amy made Mac and cheese and grilled chesse!"

I got up and smiled I loved cheese I laughed back at her "we'll be there in a minute!" I looked down at Selena

"Finally food!" She said quickly standing up and running out the door

"Sel wait up!" I yelled running after her. We took our seats at the table and dug in. We over slept, like usual, so we didn't get breakfast. The day had felt like it was dragging on. We're currently on summer break so we don't have to worry about school and can for sure go to the concert and signing. After we ate we went upstairs and continued to sing Little Mix songs. Although we live in the US Selena and I are obsessed with the X Factor UK so we've been fans of the girls since then and when they announced the US promotional tour we were beyond excited. We helped out more and more so our foster mother Amy would give us the money for the CD's.  We've only been waiting a week, since the album was just released, but I don't think we could be more excited! Finally! I looked at the clock and saw that it was 10 o'clock Selena and I looked at each other and then at the calendar. Today was Thursday. Saturday was adoption day. The day when a bunch if people come in and adopt kids but no one wanted 16 year olds. Everyone went for the little kids. We new we'd be here until we were 18 and had to leave.

*next morning*

I woke up to the sound of my phone singing Wings. I pushed Selena off her bed and yelled "come on! It's time to go meet our idols!" She suddenly sprung up grabbed her clothes and got dressed we grabbed our tickets and CDS and headed to the mall. We didn't even bother to eat. I looked at Selena and said "Do you think we'll get adopted tomorrow?"

She laughed and said "never in your wildest dreams" quoting the new One Direction song

I saw Jesy starting at us, we look different from the crowd, we stand out we know that and we hate when people stare at us. When it was our turn up on stage Jesy asked us our names then suddenly said "where do you girls live?"

I said "oh the orphanage up the road, we'll be there for a while no one has ever wanted to adopt us."

She gave us a sad look and we were pushed off stage. We ran back to the orphanage and ran to show Amy our CD's signed.

Amy smiled at us "Wow! Those are really cool!"

Selena and I walked up to our room and I suddenly started crying. I asked her "why do you think Jesy was asking all of those questions?"

Selena replied "I don't know!"

I said "lets just go to sleep we have a long sad day tomorrow"

*next day*

We woke up and got dressed. We had to. Selena and I both new that we wouldn't be adopted today. We had always hoped that we would be adopted by the same family, I mean come on we're sisters we don't want to be separated. Not to mention that she's my best friend. Suddenly I heard Amy yell "Abbey! Selena! Come down here someone's here for you!"

I smiled at Selena and said "maybe today's our day"

We walked down stairs and see Jesy standing there I went up to her an asked "can I hug you? Your my idol!"

Jesy giggled and said "of course!"

I hugged her and so did Selena before asking "what are you doing here?"

She smiled and looked at Selena then me and said "girls how would you like it if I adopted you guys?" Selena and I suddenly started crying, this would probably be the happiest moment of our lives. Concerned Jesy asked asked "what's wrong?"

Selena replied through tears "we never thought this day would come! We'd love it if you adopted us!"

She smiled and then hugged us. Jesy said "okay I have to go sign some papers. You girls go get your stuff together and then we'll leave!" We both smiled and nodded before running upstairs and packing out stuff up into bags. Neither of us ever thought this day would come. We were overjoyed and I don't think words can describe how we both were feeling in this moment. As I finished packing my stuff up as quick as I could I stood quietly and looked around our room. The room we had become so familiar with, the room that brought me comfort, the room I have lived in for so long. I did one quick look around with Selena making sure we had everything before we carried out stuff down stairs and waited for Jesy. Soon she came out of the office and said "Well girls let's go! I would say home but we're kinda on tour right now" we all laughed and Jesy helped us carry our stuff out to the car she was in. Selena and I sat in the backseat with Jesy, since she was driven here. We looked around as we drove off, the place we had grown up in would soon just be a memory. I knew our lives were changing. I didn't know if it would be good or bad but I knew in this moment that this is where the rest of my life started.
