Reason 26: Holding onto you.

I was sitting at the couch, alone when Esther came down and sat down at another couch watching TV.

I had a lot of questions and things I want to ask her about and it's been 2 weeks since she's been home. Aiden flew back to Amsterdam a couple days ago. We watched the TV quietly and the atmosphere was really awkward.

I cleared my throat. "How are you?"

She looked at me in surprise, probably because she never expected I had change into a brave person when she was gone- Just kidding, I'm still a coward.

"I'm fine."

I nodded my head. "Are you happy?"

She looked at me, "I am. Are you?"

I looked down onto the floor and gathered all of my courage, "No, I'm not happy."

"What happened to Micayla?" She asked, out of the sudden.

I smiled lightly, remembering the break up that left another scar at my wrecked heart. "She left."

I continued, "Just like how you left."

She looked away and stayed silent when I said that, I knew I shouldn't when I was the main reason why she left - I'm an idiot. I will always be one.

Words tend to slip out of my mouth before I could console it and sometimes, I regret it and sometimes, it's too late.

Esther seems unapproachable. It's like, there's a barrier between me and her. I mean, I didn't expect much when she came back but I defiently didn't expect this.

"Esther?" I said, into the quiet surronding.

"Hm?" She replied.

I took a deep breathe, "Esther?"

She turned her focus away from the television to me, "Yeah?"

"Nothing, I'm just making sure if you're really here."
