Miyuki
I didn't know what to do with my new temporary teammates. We had each passed the exam portion of the Chunin Exams so we should have all been excited, but the minute we entered the Forest of Death, they had become nervous and paranoid.
"Can you walk any slower?" I snapped at Kurenai, instantly feeling terrible.
Hitoshi picked up his pace a bit after hearing my words, however, it still felt slow. I glanced down in my bag. We had the Earth scroll and our mission was to retrieve the Heaven scroll. Something hissed near us and Kurenai let out a small shriek. Hitoshi quickly covered her mouth with his hand and I glanced around us, hoping that no one had heard. However, the first kunai that had been thrown at our direction quickly shattered my hopes. Hitoshi reacted quickly, blocking the attack with his own kunai while moving Kurenai out of harm's way. I jumped back, joining the both of them so that we were in a group. The team that had thrown the kunai at us appeared from the bushes and I let out a sigh when I saw who they were.
"Why don't we make this easy? Give-... Miyuki?" Obito asked, his eyes widening.
I couldn't help but make eye contact with Kakashi, who seemed uncomfortable that we ended up confronting each other. Slowly, I grabbed a shuriken from my weapon pouch, hoping that the movement wouldn't catch anyone's attention. I should have known better though, nothing could escape Kakashi's gaze.
"So you transferred teams," Kakashi said.
"Obviously," I responded before grabbing a kunai so that both weapons were now in my hand.
I saw his expression flash into one of hurt before quickly changing back to normal. I couldn't understand why he would look at me with such a face, after all, it wasn't like he cared. He should be happy with the fact that everyone on the team made it to the second part of the exams. Before anyone could react, another team came out of the bushes, creating chaos and confusion. I put my weapons away and quickly grabbed my teammates. I could tell both of them were confused by they followed along, allowing for me to free my hands. As we ran, we passed Kakashi and I could see the outline of the scroll in the bag of weapons. While his attention was occupied, I grabbed the scroll, not caring which one it was and continued to run with my teammates as far and as fast as we could. When I was sure that we were far enough, I slowed down and both Kurenai and Hitoshi let out gasping sounds. I looked down at the scroll that I had managed to grab from Kakashi and smirked. It was the Heaving scroll that we needed. Sorry Kakashi, but thanks for the scroll.
One Hour Later
I winced in pain as I felt the sting of the cut from a kunai I had received earlier. Luckily, we came out of the forest with minimal injuries and as one of the first teams out, we were able to have momentary peace and quiet while we rested. I couldn't help but think of Kakashi, Obito, and Rin. Would they make it out of the forest too? A figure towered over me, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"You did well."
I looked up to see it was Minato, standing next to me with a smile on his face. I couldn't help but mirror his expression.
"Thanks dad," I responded, the feeling of victory sinking in.
Now all we could do is hope that the rest of team Minato would make it through.
Two Hours Later
"The ones standing here are the ones that made it through the second part of the exam. If you do not wish to participate in the next round, leave now. If not, stay, and we will let you know the rules."
My eyes found Kakashi's in the crowd. He just stared at me as I turned away. I could feel my face heating up, thinking about the trick I had pulled in the forest. Letting out a deep breath, I regained my focus.
If I fight you Hatake, I won't lose.
