Miyuki
I jumped from branch to branch, moving as fast as I could. I had heard from nearby jonin that Kakashi had already left the village, intending to bring Rin back by himself. They had pointed me in the direction where he had gone before suggesting that I join the search party that was being formed. While it would have been smart, I couldn't sit around and risk losing Rin and Kakashi. I couldn't lose any more friends to this war. After what felt like an eternity, I saw Kakashi and Rin. I couldn't help but feel glad that they were safe but then I noticed the Kirigakure shinobi following them. My eyes narrowed, so it was them. But how? How did they take Rin from our village?
"Miyuki! Move!" Kakashi yelled as I came to a halt a few feet in front of them.
I weaved my hand signs quickly.
"Shoton Suishoto!"
The blue blades formed on top of my wrist and forearms but I knew it wouldn't be good enough to stop the enemy. I continued onto my next signs.
"Kessho, Rokkaku Shuriken!"
Several light blue snowflake shaped crystal shuriken formed around me and I launched them at the enemy. Someone who was unfamiliar with the jutsu wouldn't know the true purpose of the shuriken's snowflake shape. The user could not only control the speed of the shuriken, controlling how lethal it was, but also control when they burst, sending each needle like end flying at the target. Once Kakashi and Rin had reached where I was standing, I began to burst each shuriken, hearing a few painful grunts coming from the enemy. But it wasn't enough, I still hadn't perfected the technique and it had only caused minor injuries.
"Come on!" Kakashi yelled as he grabbed me.
The three of us took off towards the village. How long could we run like this?
"Rin, Miyuki, go to the village first! I'll hold them off!" Kakashi told us as he began to weave signs for chidori.
He turned to face the enemy as Rin and I continued. However, the medical nin also turned to face him, shifting her direction.
"Rin! What are you doing?" I shouted.
"I can't go back!" She yelled as she turned her head to look at me.
I saw a sad smile on her face as I chased after her. Why was she running towards Kakashi? What could she do to help him? If anything, she and I would get in his way. I wasn't too far behind her when I saw Kakashi impale one enemy with his chidori. I looked between him and Rin, horrified when I realized what she was about to do.
"Rin! Don't!" I shrieked.
Just as Kakashi was about to chidori another enemy, Rin jumped in front of him. It almost felt like it was happening in slow motion. Kakashi's chidori went forward, just as Rin turned to face him, standing right in his path. Even if he had realized what was happening, it was too late. Kakashi's chidori impaled Rin's heart. I fell to my knees as blood poured out of Rin's mouth.
"Ka... Kashi..." she whispered, her eyes filling with tears.
I saw a tear fall out of Kakashi's left eye as Rin coughed out blood. Just before she fell, Kakashi grabbed her shoulder, slowly pulling out the chidori from her body. She fell forward into him and Kakashi kept her upright, wrapping his left arm around her. He stumbled before his grip on her shoulder loosened and she fell backwards, her body hitting the ground with a thud. The Kirigakure shinobi around us began to whisper, complaining about something. Kakashi suddenly fell to his knees and I tried to get up to go to him but I couldn't, my legs had no strength in them. The ringing in my ears that had been silent for so long came back as flashbacks of Obito's death filled my brain. I held my head in my hands, feeling a painful headache beginning. Rin's face and Kakashi's chidori flashed through my mind.
"Stop... Stop, please," I whispered as I grimaced in pain.
I couldn't breathe, the pain radiating through my body. I glanced up to look at Kakashi and noticed that his regular sharingan had changed. I watched as he fell face forward, losing consciousness. I tried to push past the pain and stand up, trying to make my way to both him and Rin. I stumbled and fell, my hand outstretched to them. I saw my vision darkening and heard the ringing in my ears getting louder. I felt a sudden strong gust of wind before my world turned to black.
"She doesn't seem to have any serious injuries, she should be alright once she wakes up."
"What about him?"
"He also appears to have minor injuries, more scratches and cuts than anything else. He should also be fine upon waking up. I can't tell what kind of psychological injuries there may be though."
I slowly opened my eyes, wincing at the bright light. Was I dead?
"Miyuki! Doctor, she's awake!"
I turned towards the direction of the voice and saw mom's bright red hair. I heard a few footsteps rushing towards me and a man who appeared to be the doctor, came into my view.
"Miyuki, do you know where you are?" He asked me.
I looked behind him and saw dad, his expression unreadable.
"I'm at... the Konoha hospital..." I responded, attempting to sit up.
I saw mom and dad both instantly coming to help me. Once I was fully up, I grimaced in pain. I looked past Kushina and noticed Kakashi laying in the hospital bed, still unconscious.
"Do you know who these two people are?" The doctor asked, forcing my attention to him.
"Yes, Kushina Uzumaki and Minato Namikaze, my parents," I told him.
He looked as though he wanted to ask more questions, however, Kushina began to push him at the door, closing it in his face.
"Do you remember what happened?" Minato asked me gently, holding my hand.
What had happened? I was about to ask him what he meant when the events came rushing back to me. I couldn't help but feel sick, seeing Rin laying on the ground with a hole in her heart.
"Rin..." I started until Kushina shushed me.
"She can give her report later, not now," she scolded Minato before turning her attention back to me. "Right now sweetheart, the only thing you need to do is rest."
I nodded in agreement but refused her offer to help me lay back down. Instead, I asked her to help me stand up.
"No! You need to lay down!" She insisted.
"Kushina, I'm sure Miyuki has a good reason for wanting to get up. Let's help her," Minato suggested.
I saw mom flash dad a death glare before she gently helped me stand up. I felt as though I had been punched multiple times. What had happened after we blacked out? I slowly stepped towards Kakashi. Once I had reached his bed side, I stood there, looking down at him
"What're we going to do now?" I whispered, gently grabbing his hand.
As soon as the words left my mouth, I felt Kakashi's finger twitch.
"Mom, dad, can you please come back later?" I asked them, refusing to look at them.
"But wh-..." Kushina started before Minato interrupted her.
"Alright, get some rest," Minato told me before dragging Kushina out, closing the door behind him.
I turned my attention back on the boy in front of me. I gave his hand a gentle squeeze before walking to the window. I stared up at the sky, feeling the warmth of the sun. I felt the tears rolling down my face before I even realized I was crying. Obito, Rin, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.
