Chapter 12 - Tragedy

Miyuki

Once I had caught up to Obito, I landed next to him. He opened his mouth to let out a started yell but I covered his mouth with my hand and hissed for him to be quiet. It wasn't until I sensed someone behind us that I realized that the enemy had already realized we were there.

"Obito, watch out!" I yelled.

Taiseki's lunged at us, a kunai in hand. Obito barely managed to get out of the way, falling over. Taiseki turned and immediately went to attack Obito, however, a familiar figure blocked his attack, saving the Uchiha.

"Kakashi?" Obito and I asked in desbelief at the same time.

Taiseki fell back, his blood pouring out from his uniform. He landed on a different branch, eyeing us carefully.

"Miyuki, go in the cave and get Rin. We'll be there soon," Kakashi ordered me as I quickly got up and followed his instruction.

"Hey, get back here you brat!" Taiseki snapped and I could hear his footsteps behind me.

I turned, bracing myself for an attack but I saw Kakashi lunging at him again, digging his blade deeper into the man's shoulder.

"Go!" He yelled as I continued running into the cave.

I could still hear them battling outside but it suddenly became eerily quiet. What had happened? I jumped when I heard Kakashi's yell of pain. I turned to their direction, begging to see two chakra signatures and sighed in relief when I did. But what had happened? I shook my head, clearing my thoughts. I had to focus, I had to get Rin.

"Taiseki can't even handle one brat? Pathetic," Kakko hissed.

I saw Rin behind him, her eyes blank. She was definitely put under a jutsu so that the Iwagakure nin could extract information from her.

"I hope you said goodbye to your friends," he said as he started to run at me.

I dodged an attack from the blades attached to the top of his arm. I quickly took off in Rin's direction, hoping to get to her. I could sense that he was chasing me and catching up. I grit my teeth before jumping sideways, throwing him off and giving me enough time to weave hand signs. 

"Shoton, Suishoto."

I managed to get my own blades around my wrist before he landed an attack on me. I blocked his blades with my own and jumped back from him. I could tell that he was annoyed when he started his attack again. I barely dodged his attack and launched my own. However, he was stronger than I was and I felt myself being pushed back. 

"Miyuki!" I heard Obito yell.

I turned, losing my focus and giving Kakko and advantage. I heard him smirk and turned back to face him just as he slammed me into a wall. I couldn't breathe and heard a ringing in my ears. No, not like this, I can't die here like this. I moved out of the way just as he thrust his blade into rock I had been slammed into. I was gasping for air as I fell to the ground. I saw a flash of white before I heard Kakko make a gurgling sound and fall to the ground. Obito helped me up, holding me tightly.

"Miyuki, come on, breathe. Just take a deep breath, come on!"

My gaze turned to Kakashi and I started to walk towards Rin. Obito understood and helped me to her. By the time we were in front of her, I was able to breathe properly again.

"Release," Kakashi said as Rin snapped out of the genjutsu.

"Kakashi... Obito... Miyuki..." she started, her eyes wide.

"We came to rescue you Rin, so don't worry. You're going to be just fine now," Obito said, panting slightly.

"Alright, let's get out of here," Kakashi told us and we all stood up about to leave when Kakko, who we all thought was dead, got up.
