Miyuki
I opened my eyes as the sun hit my face. It had been three days since I had gotten dangerously low on chakra. It had been two days since the team completed all the D-Rank missions. The doctor who treated me had released me from his care today and allowed me to resume my duties. All I needed was for dad to come pick me up. I quickly changed out of the hospital gown back into the clean clothes that mom had left yesterday when she had visited me. Once I was changed, I took a few steps around the room to make sure that I felt alright.
"You shouldn't have gotten up without someone being here, what if you fell?"
I smiled as I saw dad leaning against a wall, worry in his eyes as he held one of his special kunais. So that's how he got here so fast.
"I'm ready to get going," I replied with a shrug as he sighed.
We walked to the front desk together where he signed me out. As soon as we were outside he stopped me.
"We're going on a C-Rank mission today and I have a favor to ask you Miyuki," Minato said to me.
"What is it? You're not going to ask me to stay behind are you?" I asked bewildered.
"No, of course not. But I want you to be on alert. There may be enemies following us," he explained before it registered.
Even if this was a C-Rank mission, it could be deadly if we were attacked and I knew he wanted to avoid any injuries or casualties. I nodded in agreement and he gave me a smile.
"Alright, let's go then and meet up with the team."
Rin
After Minato sensei explained everything to us in detail, all of us headed to the Hidden Mist where a small group of shinobi came out. We escorted two of them who had a scroll, and two of them that were just there as a back up. I ran in the front with Kakashi, Miyuki, and Obito while Minato sensei took the rear. Everything was quiet until Miyuki muttered something quietly about enemies. Before I could question her, Minato sensei informed us about the enemies surrounding us. He called for Obito so that the two of them could take care of the enemies and when they had left, Miyuki fell back to take the rear of the formation.
"Keep going forward," Kakashi said as he saw me looking around for enemies.
We had made it to the bridge where Kakashi turned around to face a whole bunch of kunais coming his way. But one must have gotten through because the man in front of us got hit before he fell off the bridge.
"We have to save him!" I yelled, horrified as the man's face burned into my memory.
"Complete the mission at all costs!" Kakashi shouted back.
Miyuki didn't say anything but her eyes were constantly looking around us.
"Kakashi, Rin," She called. "We have to move before the enemies catch up with us."
I nodded before running off of the bridge, towards the safe location we were supposed to go to. But when we got there, we were in for a surprise.
Kakashi
The man we were protecting fell forward on his knees, two long bloody slashes on his back. The two that were sent from the village to protect him held kunais, laughing at us.
"You genin made it to easy," one of them said.
"And now, it's time for you to die too," the other finished.
I didn't have time to react but luckily, Miyuki was fast. She countered their first attack with kunais before the force of both of them were too strong and she lost her balance and fell back.
