Chapter Six - Skylar

"There are no secrets that time does not reveal."

Skylar

I mentally cursed to myself as I looked at myself in the bathroom mirror. This is not how I wanted to be seen in public

I had dark purple bags under my eyes, my eyes were puffy and red, my hair was a greasy mess, and I had a big zit forming smack-dab in the middle of my forehead.

I turned away from the large mirror and leaned against the marble counter. I stayed up until three this morning, hoping to find sleep, and when I finally did, I had the nightmare. So I got an hour of sleep and stayed up until I knew I had to leave to get my work shirt and makeup.

I sighed and opened the door, looking around to make sure that Ryan wasn't out yet. I didn't want him to notice and ask questions. When I didn't see Ryan yet, I walked into my room to grab my keys. When I managed to find them, I walked out of the room and closed the door quietly behind me. As I walked into the living room and toward the door, a voice made me jump.

"Where do you think you're going?"

I turned around to see Ryan sitting on the couch with the TV on in front of him.

How did I not hear the TV on? I need to get my hearing checked.

I cleared my throat and looked down at the ground so he wouldn't see my red eyes, "To Gen's to get some stuff."

"You know that you can just wear one of my work shirts and tape over the name." my head snapped up at the mention of tape.

"Do you have any duct tape?"

He smirked and nodded, "Lots." I smiled. I kind of had a fascination with duct tape. Okay, I was practically obsessed with duct tape.

He stood up and walked to his room and came out moments later with a CJ's shirt, and then walked into the kitchen and grabbed a roll of electrifying blue duct tape, along with a silver sharpie. "This should do until you can go and get your clothes when Genesis isn't around."

He handed me the offering and I smiled, grabbing them from his hands. Our eyes locked together when our hands brushed and a frown etched its way onto his face. My eyes widened and I stared down at the ground again, "Thanks. This should work perfectly."

He nodded and I walked to my room to fix myself a new shirt.

Ten minutes later, I walked out of my room with my new awesome shirt that was tied at the back so it wasn't a dress on me. I sat down on the couch beside a half-clothed Ryan and I rolled my eyes, "Do you ever wear a shirt?"

He shook his head and laid on the couch with his feet propped on my lap. I didn't have the energy to move them so I just leaned against the back of the couch and tried extremely hard to not stare at Ryan's chest.

My eyes deceived me and they ran from his six pack up his chiseled chest to his smirking face, "See something you like?"

I shrugged and looked back to the TV, "Like I've said before; I've seen better. Now, can you please put on a shirt?"

He shook his head and bit his lip as he looked at the shirt on my torso, as if he were trying to undress me with his eyes, making my heart race. "You know you could walk around shirtless too so we both get to see something we enjoy."

I rolled my eyes and tried to hide my blush, "No thanks. I don't think that you want to see what's under this shirt." I muttered while pointing to my stomach and standing up. When he opened his mouth to speak, I pulled my keys from out of my pocket, "I'm going to work."
