"Wait a second, so you're in a relationship?" Skylar asked in shock.
Gavin nodded, "Yup, two years and still going strong." He raised an eyebrow, "Why do you seem so surprised?"
She shrugged and took a sip of her beer, "I don't know, I just never pictured any of Ryan's friends being in a committed relationship."
He laughed and nodded, "Well, I could see that. Ryan isn't exactly a dater."
She nodded in agreement and I rolled my eyes, "Please, it's not my fault that I don't want to be tied down to a chick for the rest of my life. No offense Gavin." I looked over at him in apology and he shrugged.
"Hey!" Skylar put a hand to her chest in defense, "Us girls aren't the problems, it's you, guys. Always walking around with your 'I'm the shit' attitude. You make it hard to find a decent guy you would consider to go on one date with, let alone be in a relationship with,"
"Does that mean that your not dating anyone?" James asked as he glanced over at me.
She shook her head and made a face, "Hell no!'
James glanced over at Skylar again and raised an eyebrow, "And why is that?"
I glanced down at my hands and then back up at James, then met Skylar's stare, "Because Ms. Roberts doesn't date."
James smirked, "Why?"
Her face became hard, and I looked down at my hands, "Because I'm not one for relationships."
James didn't get the memo that she wanted the conversation to end, so he pushed even further, "But why? I'm sure you could get any guy you wanted."
Skylar didn't understand that it was supposed to be a compliment, and looked away from everyone while biting her lip, "Well relationships never really worked out for me, so..."
I stood up then, and made eye contact with each guy in the room, "Well, it's getting kind of late, so you guys should probably get heading out."
The guys glared at me and Daniel opened his mouth with a smirk, like he was going to make another smart retort, but I stuffed my hands in my pockets and smirked, "I'll see you guys tomorrow?"
They all groaned and mumbled their goodbyes and waved to Skylar as they headed out the door.
"Bye Skylar!"
"See you later babe!"
"Can't wait to see you later sweet cheeks."
"I love-"
Skylar's head snapped over to look at James, and her eyes narrowed, "If you ever call me a pet name like that again, I swear to god, I will chop your dick off and set it on fire."
All of our heads snapped over to look at James as he stared at Skye, jaw hung open, surprise imprinted on his face. All of us laughed, and James shook his head, walking out the door.
Still chuckling, the guys followed after him. Dakota turned back to us, smiled, and waved, "I'll see you guys later." He informed while still chuckling.
Skylar and I waved, and he closed the door behind him.
There was an awkward silence hanging in the air as Skylar and I sat in the living room. The TV had been turned off after the game, and the only noise was from the hum of the refrigerator.
